Two down. Two to go.

Want to know where the roundtable world tour heads next?

This super quick video has the answers.

Sad to leave my boys. Happy to see old friends and meet new ones.

Is there a woman out there who can answer this question?

Well, at least one without pets, children, aging parents, and/or two personal assistants?

Got tips for detaching?

Help a sister out.

If there is one thing I know about the menopausal transition, it is this…

Your “maintenance” routine will increase by at least 20 minutes per day.

I often think who has time for this s**t.

And then I remind myself I am worthy of 20 minutes of self-love.

In DC today for a menopause panel I am not facilitating.

PS-Thank you for all the love for Otto. The boy is still sick but doing a bit better.

04/29/2026

Won’t be winning Mom of the year this week…

Poor baby Otto decided to get sick again right before O had to leave for the airport.

Guilt, fear, self-judgment…Oh my!

Headed to DC today. We shall see if my plans hold for Friday.

Poor little baby Otto.

Is there anything more troubling than having a sick kid when you are traveling?

My poor baby Otto had a bug while I was facilitating in Houston.

I did my best to stay focused on the amazing humans in the room.

And a chunk of my heart was 2000 miles away at a vet appointment in Marblehead.

you were a hero again yesterday.

The mental load of being away from a loved one when they are ill is too real.

Caregivers and moms of all kinds I am sending you love!

More on Houston soon!!!!

I will stare at this picture over and over as I zigzag the country the next three weeks.

Leaving these guys is the hardest part of living my dream life.

Because they are my dream.
Finn is basically an appendage at this point.

I wrestle with my conflicting desires every morning in my journal.

Because I have other dreams too.

I want to help close the women’s health gap.

I want workplaces to work better for all people, including midlife women.

I want to meet and hear from people all across the world to truly understand the challenges we face in workplace and healthcare.

I want to stand on stages, and share the data we are working so hard to parse out.

And someday (hopefully soon) I’ll know which of the 10,000 books in my head, I want to write.

All of these things can be true.

These are all dreams worth living to me.

Some months the family dreams win.
Other months are about my career dreams.

That is life-work alignment in action.

Sadly, today I say goodbye to these boys for most of the month.

Happily, I say hello to meeting amazing people and hearing their stories in Boston, Houston, LA, and Chicago…With 2 trips to DC for good measure.

See you all soon!!!!

PS-There is still a spot or two at our roundtables in Chicago and L.A. DM me for more information!

I often wonder if I am doing life wrong.

I don’t like holidays.
Someone chewing loudly can feel soul killing.
I prefer octogenarians to children.
My favorite companions are two chihuahuas.

I refuse to be excited by “Titanic” or “The Notebook,” (cue the backlash).

And, while I am genuinely happy for the athletes and the astronauts, I cannot manufacture enthusiasm for the Olympics or a moon landing.

For a long time this made me feel like a misanthrope. Or a freak.

What I have learned at 49 is that neither of those is accurate.

What’s actually true is that nobody handed me a personal owner’s manual. And for most of my life I didn’t know one existed.

Mine says quiet recharges me and noise depletes me.

It says I show up most fully in deep one-on-one conversations, not cocktail parties.

It says do not mistake my disinterest in small talk for disinterest in you.

It says I will be completely present for your hardest moment and completely useless at your surprise party.

The most self-aware leaders I know have read their own manual.

The strongest teams I have seen are built by people who have shared it.

Because when you know how you are wired, you stop apologizing for your design.

And when your team knows, they stop misreading your silence, your intensity, or your need to disappear for a week before you show up fully again.

We are not flawed.
We have unique features.

When we use them and share them, they become superpowers.

What is one must-have in your personal owner’s manual?

I’m going on the record about midlife…TEDx is the medium.

If you know me, you know that the power, empathy, and courage of midlife women is what gets me out of bed in the morning.

To step into our power we need care, to be heard, and seen.

This talk, which is awaiting my pen and my memory, is a dream come true.

I will do my very best to create more understanding and support for midlife women everywhere!

I spent 49 years becoming an entrepreneur.

Most of the entrepreneurs I meet live for an exit.
There is no right answer here. Just food for thought.

Having spent most of my life working for large organizations, I couldn’t be prouder that my name and Mark Fleming are the only two names on my cap table (a word I didn’t understand until 47).

Being profitable while doing something I absolutely love, while trying to make the world of work better for all. What could be better than that?

I now consistently live on my growth edge, which feels like a mix of electric butterflies and the constant need for a giant nap.

VC is its own language and it is sexy.

You know what is less sexy? Having a million bosses and needing to make many millions or billions before anyone calls it a success.

Before you pressure yourself to become a unicorn, while trying to get on your cap table, in order to have a 7-figure exit, pause to ask if you are still doing what you love while making a difference in the world.

Money is great.
Hard work is critical.

Getting to earn a living doing something you love that makes the world better...well that is priceless.

What does it take to prep a TEDx pitch?

-Strong writing
-The willingness to kill your darlings (meaning don’t fall in love with your writing cause it might need tweaks)
-Practice, practice, practice.

This is my grid with 1/4 of the prep takes for a two minute pitch I did today.

I have no idea of the outcome, but the process is the thing.

Everyone has a story to tell, and deserves to be heard.

Practice. Practice. Rinse. Repeat.
