🪬My first employee was actually from Harvard, I did it intentionally for a headline.

This was back from March 23, 2019. Around the time that I first started developing my patent, I was managing a restaurant in downtown Boston, when one of the waitstaff took an interest to some of the things that I was discussing. Come to find out, they were attending classes at Harvard and were more than willing to help the project.

I offered to pay them a small amount to help me get the proper paperwork in order, solely to be able to say that my first employee was from Harvard and use it as an internet marketing tool for an attention-grabbing headline.

To me, it wasn’t about “fooling people” into thinking that I could afford a Harvard graduate salary a few months into self-employment, it was merely taking advantage of the state of perception that we live in as a society through internet marketing.

The job only cost me about $50, and I get to say it for the rest of my life. If you’re going to attract attention, go all the way, otherwise what’s the point exactly?

Hopefully, I can think of more unique circumstances in the years to come that comes close to that level of creative marketing.

Entrepreneurship has to be fun, life is way too short to not capitalize on things that come your way. If it brings people joy or makes them laugh, it’s an investment well spent.

On a real note though, I’m always willing to hire anyone that shows a level of enthusiasm that connects with what I’m doing. Creative energy is rare, the same things that used to impress me as a starter, don’t do it anymore. Graduate degrees and titles don’t mean much, and I truly mean that. I used to think making history was an unreachable possibility too until it wasn’t. I wouldn’t be where I am today if other people didn’t take a chance on me just the same. If you can invest in something that can change peoples lives, I think it’s a really good investment.
