offer over 80 high quality fragrances delivered in a variety of ways. Our flagship product is the Authentic Scentsy Bar, an impressively fragrant wickless candle bar that is warmed in a warmer rather than burned with a flame. Each year thousands of homes are damaged or destroyed by burning candles. The enthusiastic response we receive from our customers, our consultants, and more particularly fire-fighters, reflects the nationwide concern over the devastation burning candles can cause. This was our initial motivation – to create a safe alternative to burning candles. Our passion has grown from offering a safe alternative to offering a better alternative. Going wickless has allowed us to offer the public a better, more cost effective method of scenting their world. How We Work
A secret combination of ingredients is used to create a pool of melted wax, which is transformed into a wickless candle bar. Only the finest scented oils are hand-picked to give an array of aromas. The melted wax is poured into reusable containers for easy storage. The wax is poured in an assortment of containers, giving the consultants party testers, basket testers and of course, Scentsy Bars to share with their customers. Room sprays and car candles are also produced in the warehouse. Scentsy hand packs each order, ensuring the correct items come right to your door in a timely manner. By using UPS, your order can be tracked the moment it leaves the warehouse. Orders are typically shipped directly to the hostess, or can be shipped direct for a minimal cost. Our hand-picked staff adds a little bit of Scentsy Spirit into each hand-packed box. Scentsy believes that every employee, consultant, hostess and customer are part of the Scentsy Family. The Scentsy Story
Scentsy began in 2003 with the powerfully simple idea of aromatic candles – decorative warmers with wax melted by the heat of a light bulb instead of a traditional wick and flame. Colette Gunnell and Kara Egan, Scentsy’s founders, shared enthusiasm for the idea. From this idea, they created a partnership and Scentsy was born. Enter Orville Thompson, who first encountered Scentsy at a home show in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2004. When Orville saw the candles made by this tiny Utah company, he immediately knew they had huge potential. Sensing there was something special about the wickless candle concept, he brought a handful of testers home to his wife, Heidi, and her mother and sister. After introducing them to the testers, he left them alone. When he returned an hour later, the women were still smelling the testers, laughing and sharing memories. Orville was intrigued by how smelling different scents brought powerful emotions and memories to the surface, and how natural it was to share those feelings and memories with others. Within months, Orville and Heidi purchased Scentsy from Kara and Colette, bringing the company to Idaho where its first home was literally a metal box. Orville had a 40-foot ocean shipping container on his small sheep farm, which housed Scentsy’s manufacturing and shipping operations for several months. Orville and Heidi decided to market and sell Scentsy products directly to consumers through home parties. On July 1, 2004, Scentsy signed its first consultant and officially became a direct selling “Party Plan” company. What began in 2004 as a simple idea has truly grown into something extraordinary, as Scentsy continues to touch thousands of lives in profound ways.
