Riley Creek Elementary School Parking Lot Improvements | Gold Beach, Oregon
A summer of work at Riley Creek Elementary is in its final stretch, and the campus is going to look and function very differently when students come back.
The project reconfigured vehicle circulation and rebuilt the pedestrian route from the parking area to Riley Creek’s front doors. New paving and striping, ADA-accessible stalls and access aisles, and a wide painted pedestrian zone — separated from the drive lane by a continuous line of concrete bollards — mean kids walking in from a car have a defined, protected path the whole way to the covered entry. Bike parking was reworked at the same time.
Drop-off and pick-up is the busiest, most safety-critical ten minutes of an elementary school’s day. Projects like this one don’t get a ribbon cutting, but they change how a campus works every single morning.
