Redmond School District | Tennis court surfacing at Ridgeview High School is complete. Long-term durability starts with the construction process: preparing the underlying surface and applying the surfacing system properly helps create a consistent playing surface that holds up over time. The project team is now coordinating final punch list items, reviewing the completed work and addressing remaining details as the bond-funded improvements move toward closeout.

Tumalo Community School | Construction is taking shape on the kitchen and cafeteria expansion at Tumalo Community School!

With the foundation work complete, crews are now framing and sheathing the new exterior walls, giving the expanded spaces their first real form. The expansion will provide the additional kitchen and cafeteria capacity needed to support the school’s continued growth and accommodate students from the new junior high addition.

It’s exciting to see the project moving from plans on paper to spaces you can now begin to visualize!

Redmond School District | Redmond High School
Fall is here, and contractors are preparing for changing weather by putting seasonal measures in place, including temporary heat in active construction areas. These measures help maintain the conditions needed for materials to cure and finishes to be installed properly, supporting continued progress on bond-funded improvements as seasons change.

Redmond School District | Redmond School District staff receive owner training from the manufacturer as part of project closeout, with the commissioning agent, contractor, and mechanical contractors participating to review how the new systems operate. These sessions provide staff an opportunity to ask questions and learn the procedures needed to operate and care for the equipment as bond-funded improvements are completed. Training sessions are often recorded so the District can use them as a future reference and a resource for additional staff.

Columbia Gorge Community College | The roof is DONE.

Buildings 2 and 4 are sealed up and the crews are off the roof — the biggest piece of summer construction at The Dalles Campus is in the books. Add the new elevator, the rebuilt Building 3 staircase, the seismic studies and the Hood River controls upgrade, and that’s five bond projects crossed off.

Next up: new access controls go out to bid this week, and campus wayfinding signage is in permitting with the city.

Last week, we celebrated the ribbon cutting. Today, we’re taking you inside!

Take a closer look at the new Redmond Area Park and Recreation District HUB Recreation & Aquatic Center and the grand opening celebration that welcomed the community into this incredible new space.

The Hub officially opened its doors on Saturday, October 3, and Redmond finally has the community recreation center its voters approved. The 56,000-square-foot facility, built on a $54 million total budget, replaces the Cascade Swim Center, which opened in 1979 when Redmond had about 6,500 residents. The centerpiece is an 8-lane, 25-meter competition pool built for swim meets and water polo. Next to it is a leisure pool with a lazy river, water slide and spa. The building also has a gym with full basketball, volleyball and pickleball courts, an open fitness area, exercise studios and an outdoor turf fitness patio. There are rentable party rooms, a teaching kitchen and new administrative space for the District, too. Due to budget savings, we are moving forward with Phase 2, which adds a multi-sport synthetic turf field, four outdoor pickleball courts, a new playground with nature-play elements, a covered picnic shelter and an outdoor restroom building. The Hub now gives our fast-growing community a place to swim, play, train and gather for decades to come.

Tumalo Community School | With the foundation complete, crews are now framing up the walls for the new junior high and science classroom. As framing continues, the interior spaces will begin to take shape and the layout of the classrooms, corridors, and learning areas will become more defined.

This is an exciting stage of construction, as the project starts to move from plans on paper to spaces you can actually walk through and visualize. We’re looking forward to seeing the building continue to take shape over the coming weeks.

Planning for the infrastructure you don’t see | Cascade School District

Not every bond project is a new classroom or cafeteria. Some of the most important work is underground.

At the Cascade High School and Junior High campus, our team walked the existing septic system with the District’s facilities staff and engineering team. We looked at the tanks, the drain field and the pump control panel to scope the work and plan the replacement.

A reliable septic system serves the students and staff on campus every day. The new system is also being planned with the campus’s future growth in mind.

Septic infrastructure is part of the Cascade bond’s districtwide building preservation work. We’ll share updates as the project moves into design.

Boots on the roof at Cascade School District |

Roofs are one of the biggest priorities in the Cascade bond, so before any design work starts, we went up and looked at them.

On September 30, we walked the roofs at Cascade High School, Cascade Junior High and Aumsville Elementary with design consultants preparing to propose on the District’s roofing design work. Seeing the metal panels, flat roof sections, drains and rooftop equipment up close lets teams ask better questions and plan around what is really up there, not just what is on paper.

Next step: the District selects a design consultant, and the design work gets underway.

Redmond School District | Replacement of the main west roof at Redmond High School was completed this summer. Manufacturer roof walks provide an opportunity to review installation details and document conditions, helping support long-term roof performance and protect the District’s investment.
