Since the beginning of the year, our call volume has increased tremendously... As an example, in May 2025 our department received 53 calls for service and May 2026, we received 78 calls for service.

At 8:23pm, Engine 511 and two Volunteers responded to the 1000 block of Lee Road 158 on a report of a fallen tree blocki...

At 8:23pm, Engine 511 and two Volunteers responded to the 1000 block of Lee Road 158 on a report of a fallen tree blocking the roadway. At arrival, Volunteers discovered a large tree had fallen across the roadway and was blocking 1.5 lanes. Crews using Engine 511 dragged the tree off the roadway.

At 5: 39pm Engine 511, Rescue 520 and three of our Volunteers responded to the 6800 block of Lee Road 175 on a report of a roll over accident. Crawford Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. responded for mutual aid. At arrival, Volunteers discover one occupant and rendered aid until arrival of East Alabama EMS. The vehicle was towed from the accident scene and the roadway was clear by 7pm.

Thank you to Smiths Station Fire Protection District and Alabama Power for donating 15 gallons of HCT F-500 Encapsulator Agent (Fire Foam) to our Department. This Agent is blended with our Engine Water and extinguishes fires faster.

At 9:40pm, Engine 511, Rescue 520 and five of our Volunteers responded to the intersection of Lee Road 145 and Lee Road ...

At 9:40pm, Engine 511, Rescue 520 and five of our Volunteers responded to the intersection of Lee Road 145 and Lee Road 187 on a report of a crash with power lines down. At arrival, our Volunteers discovered a truck and trailer had knocked down an Alabama Power Pole, causing the power lines to block both streets. The driver had fled the scene on foot. The vehicle and its trailer were impounded by Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Alabama Power took charge of the scene and began replacing the pole and lines.

At 3:04pm, Engine 511 and three Volunteers responded to the 5400 Block of Lee Road 175 on report of an Auto Accident with injuries. At arrival, one driver had a complaint of pain, but refused transport.

At 1:55pm, Engine 511, Brush 515 and three of our volunteers responded to the 2400 Block of Lee Road 252 on a report of a tree down. At arrival the Volunteers found a large tree completely obstructing the roadway. The volunteers, using chainsaws, where able to clear the roadway.

Again, we would like to thank Mid-South RC&D for their gracious donation to our department through the Lee County Firefighters Association that provided two new chainsaws.
