Plants love rain. Weeds love rain. Molds love rain. Even the bugs love rain, but flowers do not. That is why, flowers are grown in protected structures. While we have no such luck since I grow everything in the garden, we have been blessed with enough.
The speciality sunflowers are becoming rabbit fodder and the blister beatles have made an appearance well before their usual fall appearance to devour anything and everything.
I, personally, am withering away with the humidity and mosquito assault, but my love for growing, unique, local flowers, keeps me motivated.
Dhruv's zinnias are saving me big time this week as my own successions are already covered with mildew.
Now the star this week are not the usual purple lisianthus that I lost due to downy mildew but the unique varieties that I experimented with this year.
The ruffled glowing "mango" shades and a designer dark prune lisianthus are what you will get to experience when you come to the markets tomorrow.
It is going to be another long night ahead but my flowers will be ready to greet you on the first day of August💐
