Know where the shut off valves are for your fixture and don't use them unless it's necessary. Every sink and toilet has a shut off valve (angle stop). Know where they are. Know also that most are not designed for repeated use over long periods of time.

Tired of looking at your chipped sink? This can be easily repaired with a ceramic/porcelain repair kit. First using 400-600 grit wet dry sandpaper rough-up the chipped area. Then thoroughly clean and let dry before applying ceramic paint according to instructions. Be sure to allow a drying time of 24 hours before getting wet and 7 days before scrubbing the area.

Thinking about installing a "dog faucet?" These are great for dogs that spend a lot of time outdoors. However, use CAUTION! Do not install in direct sunlight or the water will first come out red-hot! Install in shaded area.

Clogged drain? Try using a "cup plunger" for small drains like bath tubs, showers and lavatory sinks. For sinks or toilets try using a "forced cup plunger" which applies extra force down the drain.
