🇺🇸 SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 — WE WILL NEVER FORGET 🇺🇸
Twenty-five years ago, America woke up to an ordinary September morning. Before that morning was over, our nation—and thousands of families—would never be the same again.
2,977 innocent lives were taken from this world.
They were mothers and fathers. Sons and daughters. Husbands and wives. Brothers, sisters, friends, coworkers, firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and everyday Americans who simply went to work that morning and never made it home.
There were final phone calls. Final “I love yous.” Final goodbyes that no family should ever have to make.
And then we watched heroes rise.
While people were running from the smoke, flames, and destruction, brave men and women were running toward it. They climbed stairs knowing they might never come back down. Complete strangers helped one another. Americans risked—and gave—their lives trying to save people they had never even met.
That is courage.
That is sacrifice.
That is America. 🇺🇸
And in the days that followed, something happened that I wish this country could experience again without first having to endure tragedy.
We became ONE.
We weren’t Republicans or Democrats.
We weren’t divided by race, religion, wealth, or where we lived.
We were Americans.
Flags flew from homes, businesses, bridges, trucks, and front porches. Churches filled with people praying. Strangers hugged each other. Neighbors checked on neighbors. We thanked our police officers, firefighters, first responders, and military.
For a moment, the things that divided us didn’t seem nearly as important as the country that united us.
Today, 25 years later, I pray we never forget that feeling.
I pray we never forget the empty chairs at dinner tables, the children who grew up without a parent, and the families who have carried an unimaginable loss for a quarter of a century.
I pray we never forget those who ran toward danger.
I pray we never forget the men and women who answered our nation’s call in the years that followed—and those who never came home.
Most importantly, may we never forget the Americans whose lives were stolen on September 11, 2001.
Their names matter.
Their lives mattered.
Their families matter.
Their memory will live on.
📖 “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” — John 15:13
Today, put the politics aside.
Look at our flag and remember what it represents.
Remember the sacrifice.
Remember the heroes.
Remember the families.
Remember how America stood together.
🇺🇸 ONE NATION. UNDER GOD. 🇺🇸
May God comfort the families of the fallen.
May God protect our first responders and military.
And may God Bless the United States of America.
9•11•2001
WE REMEMBER.
WE HONOR.
WE WILL NEVER FORGET. 🇺🇸🙏
