A newly discovered campaign, which researchers call Zoom Stealer, is affecting 2.2 million Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge users through 18 extensions that collect online meeting-related data like URLs, IDs, topics, descriptions, and embedded passwords.

Zoom Stealer is one of three browser extension campaigns that reached more than 7.8 million users over seven years and are attributed to a single threat actor tracked as DarkSpectre.

Based on the used infrastructure, DarkSpectre is believed to be the same China-linked threat actor behind the previously documented GhostPoster, which targeted Firefox users, and ShadyPanda, which delivered spyware payloads to Chrome and Edge users.

ShadyPanda remains active through 9 extensions and an additional 85 'sleepers' that build a user base before turning malicious via updates, researchers at supply-chain security company Koi Security say.

BREAKING: The company that literally invented Silicon Valley just packed up and left California for good.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) — born in a tiny Palo Alto garage in 1939 with just $538 — has relocated its global headquarters to the Houston area in Texas.

This is the iconic firm that defined American innovation and created the blueprint for Silicon Valley. Now its top executives are gone from San Jose.

Governor Greg Abbott welcomed them with open arms, calling Texas the best place to do business. Gavin Newsom’s office responded with a cold shrug: “Companies come and go.”

Hundreds of companies have fled California in recent years, citing sky-high taxes (13.3% top rate), crushing regulations, and insane costs. Texas has zero state income tax — saving executives hundreds of thousands every year.

Is your computer connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) that keeps your computer running during a brief power outage? If you do, you'll need to test it periodically. Some UPS units have a test button on them. The smaller ones do not, and you test them by simply unplugging the power cord of the UPS from the wall. If the equipment turns off, your batteries or the unit itself will need to be replaced.

A government internet outage turned out to have a surprisingly tiny culprit.

In Medina County, Ohio, several government offices suddenly lost phone and internet service on February 20, including the county prosecutor’s office. At first, officials believed construction crews had accidentally cut underground fiber lines.

But the real cause turned out to be far more unexpected. County Administrator Matt Springer later revealed that a squirrel had built a nest inside the fiber infrastructure and chewed through multiple cables, knocking out the network. During a commissioners meeting he even joked, “It’s hard to make this stuff up.”

Officials are now working with internet providers to strengthen the system and prevent similar incidents. Believe it or not, squirrels have been blamed for many power and infrastructure outages across the United States over the years.

If something this small can shut down a government network… how secure do you think our systems really are?

The January 2026 Security Update for Windows 11 was expected to be routine. No new features, no visible changes, just the usual monthly security fixes. Instead, the quality update KB5074109 (build 26200.7623) quickly turned into one of the most problematic updates in recent months.

Released on January 13, 2026, the update began generating complaints almost immediately. What followed was a growing list of confirmed bugs, user reports, and official acknowledgements that ultimately pushed many users to uninstall the update entirely.

KB5074109, the January 2026 update for Windows 11, caused crashes, boot failures, Outlook issues, and uninstall errors, forcing users to remove it.
