Spring is here, COVID is starting to loosen it's grip on public gatherings, and it's time to get back to live auction. A year and a half of "cabin fever" that usually only lasts a few months - and people with money to spend - makes this the prime time to consider an auction.
An auction does not have to be an expensive proposition. Sure, you have to have things to sell that people want to buy, and you have to be able to let them know that you're selling, but that doesn't mean you have to have $100,000 or more to sell to make it worth while. Smaller auctions have their place, and just because one auctioneer doesn't think it will work for them doesn't mean it won't work at all.
You can consign your items to somebody's on-line auction and hope that the bidder 3 states away considers it worth the trip or worth shipping. For some items, that may well be the best alternative, but that's not for everybody, nor every asset.
You can have a yard sale, spend 2 days pricing items (hoping you aren't too high or too cheap), sit around waiting on buyers (who will almost all try to buy cheaper than you have the items marked, even if your prices are low), then either pack what's left back into your garage or find somebody to take it all for pennies on the dollar, if they'll take it at all.
Or you can start with "Plan Bee"... Give us a call and we can come and look over what you want to sell. If it looks like it will be hard to draw a crowd or items are of little value or interest to the public, we'll be honest with you and say so. But having been in the auction business for over 40 years, we might see something that you consider unimportant - something that will bring buyers to you.
Sure, if you have farm machinery, real estate or large collections of antiques, we are more than capable of serving your needs, as well. But, even then, we try to offer affordable options. Quite frankly, sometimes we are cheaper, other times we may not be. But no matter the auction or seller's circumstances, we try to find a solution that fits your assets, at a price you can afford.
