It has just been brought to our attention that through changes made to a select group of statements last year by our I.T. personnel the 2021 tax statements reflect the incorrect due dates. The correct due dates for 2021 taxes are as follows;

First Half OR ALL-December 31, 2021
Second Half-March 31, 2022

Please share this to help get the message out.

Thank you, Angela Gist

The deadline to pay taxes is quickly approaching. If you do not pay ALL or HALF by DECEMBER 31st, your taxes become delinquent and accrue interest at the rate of 1.5% per month until paid.

That being said, there are several ways that you can avoid the crowd. You may go to our website (www.oktaxrolls.com) and pay by eCheck ($1.50 fee) or we now offer a credit/debit card option as well. The fee for Visa DEBIT ONLY is a flat fee of $3.95 and all other cards are 2.95% with a minimum $1.95 fee. We have had some recent changes to our website so if you have used it in the past, your previous bookmark will no longer work. We do not take payments by phone.

You can mail your payment. Your payment will not be counted late as long as you have it postmarked by DECEMBER 31st.

There is a drop box on the corner of Oak and Creek in the Sheriff’s office parking lot where you can deposit your payment.

If you must come to the office to pay you will have to enter through the north door of the Courthouse and check-in. This process could take some time so if at all possible, choose another option. If you feel there is a problem with your tax statement you could try calling us or the assessor to settle the dispute before coming in.

Thank you,
Sequoyah County Treasurer’s Office

2018 Ad Valorem taxes are now delinquent (as of Jan 1, 2019) and penalty has been assessed. Late penalty accrues at 1.5% per month until paid. Your property is not in danger of sale until it is 4 years delinquent but it does get more expensive the longer it remains unpaid. Time is of the essence. Please call for your correct amount due if you need to pay. We are available Monday through Friday 8 AM-4 PM. We are eager to help in any way that we can!
