Let me show you how to manage. “Ok, so what’s the price?”

Start with - “Of course, it ranges from $150 to $1,000 per month, depending on the level of your need.”

Now, before you move on, you need to ask a question so you can maintain some momentum and get control of the conversation.

Here are a few questions you can ask:

“Can you tell more about the specific challenges you’re facing?"

“When you’re looking for a [industry expert], what results are you looking for?”

“If you were to rank your current bottlenecks, what’s at the top of the list to solve?”

Now you’ve got a way out and to get back to a solution-based approach.

PS - it’s worth noting that setting up the pricing conversation will dictate how you respond to this question.

Ideally, the person asking is a qualified buyer and has worked with services like your so the range isn’t surprising.

I was reminded of a powerful mindset principle this morning.

Be really careful about the story you tell yourself.

One of the keys to a growth mindset is the story you tell yourself about what happened.

Don't be a victim of what the Buddha called "the second arrow."

Life will hurt, yes.

But what's worse is all the negative stories you imagine about why things happen the way they do.

Life happens, and we take full advantage of the opportunity.

Great sales performance isn't just about “closing techniques."

The BEST sales training in the world won’t make up for:

- A weak product

- Unclear messaging & a poor offer

- Inconsistent follow-up processes

- Poor time management

- A fixed mindset

Here’s why genuine curiosity should be the FIRST tool you reach for when trying to master empathetic selling.

Curiosity is hands-down my secret weapon in every sales conversation. When I stay genuinely curious, I’m not just going through the motions—I’m diving into discovery mode.

I’m asking questions to really understand what’s going on with my clients.

It’s not just about pitching a product; it’s about exploring their world, uncovering hidden challenges, and opening up new possibilities they might not have even considered.

And honestly, when they feel truly understood, that’s where the magic happens. This is empathy in action, and it builds trust faster than any slick sales tactic ever could.

Here’s the thing: Curiosity is at the core of effective persuasion.

When I’m genuinely curious, I’m not just asking questions to check a box—I’m asking them because I want to learn more, solve problems, and simplify things for my clients. It’s about breaking down complicated situations and helping them find a clear, simple path to a solution.

Almost every business owner I talk to right now needs one thing:

Paying customers.

Paying customers is a function of two factors: attracting NEW potential customers and following up with your existing leads.

I’d bet my entire commission check that you’ve got deals in your pipeline right now that are ready to buy.

Follow up with them. TODAY

Here are a few scripts that have worked really well for me (read till the end for a bonus tip):

Same Day:

“Jared! Really great to chat with you today about sales training for your team - we planned on reconnecting Wednesday at 3 - in the meantime, here is the deck I promised to share! Talk soon.”

Long Term Follow Up (missed or canceled appointment):

“Jordan! Dalton here, last time we spoke we were talking about sales training for your team to help improve your conversion rates. Is this something you’re still considering or should I drop it?”

Value-added Follow-Up (long term):

“Dalton, it seems like it’s been a little while since we last talked about sales training and improving conversions for your team.
