EnergySolutions Canada employees enjoyed a summer barbecue with members of the Nuclear Clean Air Energy IndyCar Racing Team ahead of this weekend’s race in the Greater Toronto Area.

The event brought together employees, racing enthusiasts and industry leaders for a great afternoon of conversation and connection. Employees also heard from EnergySolutions COO Billy Morrison, D&D President Jeff Richardson, former Bruce Power CEO Mike Rencheck and Imran Safiulla, HVM Racing Co-Owner,,, about the race, and the important role clean energy, including nuclear power, will play in powering our future.

EnergySolutions has been awarded a Master Subcontract by Hanford Tank Waste Operations and Closure (H2C) to provide offsite commercial grouting and disposal of tank-side treated waste generated at the Hanford Site.

The award expands commercial capabilities and provides additional options to support Hanford’s cleanup mission, including grouting concentrate from the Effluent Management Facility beginning in 2027.

With decades of experience in radioactive waste treatment, transportation and disposal, EnergySolutions is proud to support the U.S. Department of Energy and H2C with safe, compliant and reliable waste-disposition solutions.

Nuclear Services Recruiting Manager | 20 Years in Nuclear | Two Years with EnergySolutions

Meet Kayci Wilbanks, a Glen Rose, Texas native and 20-year nuclear industry veteran who serves as Nuclear Services Recruiting Manager for EnergySolutions.
In just under two years with the company, she has already staffed 11 nuclear outages — including nearly 1,000 positions across four outages in the spring of 2026 alone — supporting all Duke Energy nuclear plant sites in the Carolinas, plus many other facilities across the US.

Over her career, Kayci has placed professionals at 22 nuclear plants across the United States, filling an estimated 20,000+ positions spanning nuclear engineers, senior reactor operators, craft professionals, and everything in between.
What drives her:

— Building real relationships by returning calls, staying engaged, and never misleading a candidate

— Partnering with technical colleges to build a pipeline of next-generation nuclear craft professionals

— Educating candidates about the nuclear industry itself to grow the broader workforce

— Leading a team of three recruiters focused on placing candidates in positions that include valve technicians, welders, and pipe fitters (plus others!)

The U.S. Department of Energy announced this week it has selected Utah as a potential site for a Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus. This is exciting news for our state and the nation’s nuclear future.

We applaud Governor Spencer Cox and his continued leadership of Operation Gigawatt in positioning Utah as a leader in nuclear innovation, workforce development and clean reliable energy.
