My friend Cliff Banks makes a valid point regarding the potential CDK sale. If the vast majority of all the information collect is housed in privately held companies, our view of what and how that data is being monetized will be hindered. Currently it is possible to extrapolate much of a companies revenue flow in this segment ie. DealerTrack DMS and ReyRey, as we have a clear and concise snapshot of what CDK is doing. This is in jeopardy and Dealers should be alarmed.
