Thank you Christine and the whole team at  for having on your "A Voice for Women | A Virtual Panel for Women in Business," event today.

The topics covered were:
🫣 Imposter Syndrome
💰 How to Negotiate
⛰ Turning Obstacles into Opportunities

Highlights on imposter syndrome:
⭐️ There's no such thing as perfection and that's okay.
⭐️ Self-reflection can lead to self-actualization.
⭐️ Believe in your experience, skills, and capabilities, because they matter and will always be a welcome addition to any company or team.

Highlights on how to negotiate:
⭐️ You need to understand what your number is (the salary you ultimately want to make).
⭐️ What are the numbers for the company (what is their salary range and other key offerings).
⭐️ For a raise or promotion, you need to know what the company offers as a standard, where they're at as a company, and what do market conditions look like.

Highlights on turning obstacles into opportunities:
⭐️ Robyn said, "The one point I mentioned is the thing that women are afflicted with the most; being too bold, too opinionated, strong-willed, etc and why it's incredibly important to embrace your authenticity and use it to your advantage, gracefully and respectfully. Especially in places where it might not be accepted, because truthfully, that's where it's needed the most."

What would you add to any of these topics? Leave your comments below!

Want to know our why behind our 40 Women OVER 40 project?

Did you know that 1 in 4 Americans is a woman over 40?

Take that in for a second.

That is 25% of the country.

Or 83 million women.

I came across that statistic the other day, which I found on Katie Keating's LinkedIn profile.

To think I’m part of a group that’s 83 million strong is powerful.

But where is this reflected in our world?

I don’t see it in advertising, movies, tv shows, upper management at companies, or the like.

Why? I honestly don’t have an answer, but there’s this sense of being washed up or feeling invincible 40 and older.

Well, I want to change that.

I want to highlight and celebrate the stories and accomplishments of women 40 and over.

I want to change the perception of what it means to be 40 and older.

I want to inspire the younger generations to show them what success looks like later in life.

And I want to create a new group of role models.

That’s why , and myself are doing Utah's 40 Women Over 40.

When 1 in 4 Americans is a woman over 40, this means that I matter.

That you, a woman 40 and over, matters.

That representation matters.

If you know a woman who is 40 or older, click the link in bio and nominate them.

If that’s you, nominate yourself!

If you want to support our upcoming event, please reach out to me at [email protected].

Happy International Women's Day!

Last week we announced that we're launching a 40 Women OVER 40 in Utah project, because we're tired of older women not being celebrated for their accomplishments.

We want to acknowledge and celebrate women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond!

Why? Because . It matters in age, race, skill, experience, opinion, and thought.

Not to mention, life in your 20s and 30s is vastly different from your 40s plus.

You might have changed careers, started a company, failed, but persevered.

We want to hear those stories.

We want to know that success doesn't only happen under 40.

We want to be inspired by a woman taking chance later on in life.

Thank you to Julia Deaver, Diane Acevedo, Lynde Barton, and Nissa Farley for reaching out about your interest in being part of the committee. We would also love to have a woman of color, and even a man on the committee, so we have a diverse group helping to choose the winners.

We have also updated the application form so it's more simple and straight-forward. The new due date in Friday, April 15th, 2022.

We have received a couple of nominees, but keep them rolling in!

Again, we're looking for a media partner and sponsors. Feel free to email [email protected].

Let's go Utah! Let's celebrate all the amazing women in this state that are over 40 and kicking butt!

What a weekend! and ’s event was amazing.

A couple of weeks back, we asked Tunisha how can we help with her event?

We knew we had to support and be part of her event.

She was doing something different and intentionally targeting black women of Utah.

First we posted about it and asked who could sponsor some tickets for women who couldn’t afford to go. Trent Mano and a group of entrepreneurs did just that and I’m so thankful!

Then we asked Tunisha, what else can we do?

Her assistant couldn’t make it to help with registration, so we jumped onboard and handled it for the whole weekend.

In return we witnessed this amazing experience she curated for the community and the speakers and keynote guests all had powerful and inspiring content.

Plus we was able to meet David Banner, our very own Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall, and the one and only Tabitha Brown.

We’ve always passionately believed that representation matters. It’s been W Collective Co.’s mission from the beginning. That means representation in age, race, skill, experience, opinion and thought. It’s also about being seen, heard, and respected for who you are authentically.

Thank you Tunisha for putting on such a powerful event! Looking forward to supporting whatever you do here to make Utah the uniquely diverse place we want it to be.

It’s been a minute since we posted here, but we couldn’t think of a better time to reignite W Collective Co. than by talking about one of the key issues that exists here…

One of the things we struggle with in Utah is diversity.

Diversity of thought, diversity of representation, and diversity of leadership.

Tunisha Brown is on a mission to change this and one of the ways she's doing that is with her upcoming event IMPACT Black Women: Mind, Body, Soul at the Grand America from March 4-6.

Tunisha is the founder of IMPACT Magazine and along with Domo, Inc., Facebook App, Silicon Slopes, and Mother's Shut In as partners, this event will bring black women together who are seeking to enrich their lives, pitch their business to investors, and find employment opportunities.

The one thing that I absolutely love about our community is the way we rally behind people, companies, and causes.

This is a vitally important cause that I feel we need to rally behind and the best way to do that is to sponsor tickets to women who would like to attend this event, but cannot afford it.

Tunisha has 30, 3-day tickets that she has set aside for this. She is looking for individuals, brands, or companies who would be willing to sponsor 3, 10, or all 30 tickets, so Tunisha can extend invitations to all the women who have expressed their interest in wanting to attend this event.

Utah, this is your moment! Let's support Tunisha and this event. Let's change the landscape for women and diversity.

For those interested in sponsorship, please email [email protected].

Have you been able to adapt this year?

It's one thing to make a change, because you made a decision to do so.

It's another thing when you're forced to make a change.

You are either adaptable and embrace change with open arms or you resist it and it takes you three times as long to accept change.

This year we have all been forced to adapt to changing circumstances.

Whether on a personal level or with your career or with your business.

It hasn't been easy for anyone, but some people can naturally adapt, make all the necessary changes, and move forward like nothing happened. For others, it can be a painful process.

Join us today for Red Carpet Roxy’s Uplevel live session on “How to Adapt Yourself, Your Career, and Your Business to Changing Times.” It starts at 12pm PT/3pm ET, space is limited. Link in below!

How do you find the work you are meant to do?

Do you focus on a passion?

Do you focus on a purpose?

Do you focus on a skill?

Some people know early on what they want to do for work. They usually go on to follow their passions successfully for years to come.

Some people go to school specifically to become a doctor, or a lawyer, or even a scientist, because they believe that’s their purpose.

And some have developed a skill that they’ve turned into a successful career.

“Only 15% of the world's one billion full-time workers are engaged at work. It is significantly better in the U.S., at around 30% engaged, but this still means that roughly 70% of American workers aren't engaged.” (A recent Gallup study revealed)

Not only are 70% of Americans dissatisfied with their job, 85% of the world’s population are as well.

So how do you connect with work that you are really meant to do so you create a more fulfilling career?

Join us today for Sam Owens’ Uplevel live session on “How to Find the Work You Are Meant to do?”

Sam is Sr. Marketing Director for , author of “The 8 Career Skills You Didn’t Learn in College,” and creator of , an online career advice platform.
