Mountain’s Montana team completed the replacement of four butane storage vessels at the PAR Montana refinery in Billings. The year-and-a-half project required replacing each tank individually, with months between lifts while the new vessels became operational. Moving a 150,000-pound tank around live refinery equipment took careful planning and plenty of crane power. A Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 provided the reach and capacity needed to take the long way around before setting the vessel onto Goldhofer trailers for transport through the refinery. At the laydown area, a Link-Belt ATC-3275 and Liebherr LTM 1130-5.1 teamed up for a tandem lift, each handling approximately half the load. The trailers then pulled clear before the tank was lowered onto mats. From the first lift to the final set, coordination between the crane crew, transport team and refinery operations kept the project moving!

Montana just got a little more Mountain!

We officially cut the ribbon on our new Billings, Montana facility! Sitting on six acres, the 9,000-square-foot building gives our Montana team plenty of room for cranes, equipment and continued growth.

With a new shop, expanded yard space and a place to escape those brutal Montana winters, our crew is ready for whatever comes next!

We’re excited to keep growing our footprint in Big Sky Country!

We had a great time at The Big Dig! We teamed up with J&M Steel and brought a crane for the kids to climb in and explore and sent them home with plenty of goodies. It was a fun day for an important cause: supporting pediatric cancer research💛

We headed up to Park City Ski Resort to set 200 feet of snowmobile tunnel, placing 40,000-lb. culverts at a 50-foot radius. Big picks, mountain views and a tunnel built for snowmobile season. Now we just need the snow👀❄️

Rocky Mountain Power’s new headquarters at The Power District has officially topped out at 10 stories, with Mountain proud to provide the crane work helping bring the structure to life. It’s been great working alongside Schuff Steel and the project team as the 300,000-square-foot headquarters and essential services campus continues to take shape. Proud of our crews and everyone involved in reaching this milestone.
