We have been working hard for the past six months in close collaboration with Sasaki, Io LandArch, Ogden City Government, Weber State Department of Visual Art & Design, Ogden Contemporary Arts, and many other amazing partners and community members to design a contemporary arts-focused public plaza in the Nine Rails Creative District. This space will become a cornerstone of art in the American west and will feature revolving arts programming from within Ogden and around the globe. A core priority for this project is that it be welcoming to and reflective of people from all cultures, ethnicities, abilities, ages, and experiences.

We are entering the final phase of design with construction scheduled to begin in Spring 2021. We will be holding 4 community open houses (2 English, 2 Spanish) during the first week of December. This will be an opportunity to see the nearly-final design and provide feedback on the remaining details. Check our events section or visit ninerailsplaza.com for meeting details.

We recently concluded a year-long strategic-planning process with . It’s was amazing getting to facilitate the process as they laid out a path forward. This plan breaks the standard mold of a strategic plan-swapping goals, objectives, and strategies for priorities, questions, tools, resources, and metrics. The result is both highly flexible and implementable. Salt Lake City is lucky to have such an active and passionate arts council. @ Salt Lake City Arts Council

A couple of weeks ago Logan City, Utah adopted its new Public Arts Master Plan. Logan’s new Public Arts Master Plan is the most comprehensive of any public arts plan in Utah. The plan was developed over 12 months and lays out a phased process to developing a robust public art program. The process involved significant stakeholder engagement, asset mapping, precedent research, site identification, and recommendations regarding funding, management, and implementation. Union Creative Agency developed this plan in close collaboration with and Loom Planning + Design. It was a pleasure getting to work with the community in Logan and we look forward to seeing the great things they create. @ Logan, Utah
