The best part of being a coding instructor is the wonderful people I get to meet and help with coding... not just during the class but many years later. Thank you to my former student who reached out to me to ask for help and reminded me how much I love coding. As I change my format to be more online, I hope I will always have the ability to meet and be in contact with the amazing coders I teach.

There is something about the new year that excites me and gets me excited for new classes. With that being said, I start another class on January 17th. I am very excited since this class will be recorded and available for anyone interested in getting coding certified and they don't have to wait for my next class. I am moving into a more independent study world where my students still get to hear my lectures but they don't have to come to the classroom. It is going to be an amazing 2017 and I look forward to meeting all my new students.

As we all start thinking about back to school time I also start thinking about my fall class. Back to school also includes adult students and those interested in learning coding have a chance to be part of my fall class. Fall classes will start on August 16th and continue through the first part of November. Testing will occur in December and you can be done before Christmas. This is a great chance to jump start your coding career and be certified as a Christmas present to yourself. Send me a message or email me at [email protected] for more information.

2016 has started off with a bang and a need to start another coding class. I have decided I am addicted to coding - and teaching! I miss teaching my students and helping them learn something I am so passionate about. Therefore, March 1st I will start my next class. I am super excited to do this since now I will incorporate ICD-10 in the class as well. If you are interested in the class or know someone who is, contact me at [email protected]. ICD-10 - YAY! After having taught 9 ICD-10 classes I have to say that is one of my favorite to teach. Therefore, I have scheduled an ICD-10 class to be taught starting in March. The class will be over 4 weeks, every Thursday, from 5:30 to 9:30. The class starts on March 19th and I am looking to get at least 10 people registered for the class. The cost of the course is $400 and includes an AAPC ICD-10 workbook and the ICD-10 manual. Any previous student of mine will get a $50 credit for being willing to listen to my stories, again. :) Please pass this along to anyone that is interested in ICD-10 training.

I am excited to be starting my next class in February. I have 22 students signed up for this class, my biggest class yet. I am also working on ICD-10 classes for March so if anyone is interested, please let me know. Have I told you lately how much I love teaching coding? :)

My last class has finished and the scores are in for everyone. There was quite a few people that passed their CPC exam and some that gained the experience of how hard this certification test can be. I am so grateful for the wonderful people I have met this last year that have trusted me to teach them medical coding classes. I am excited for what next year will bring.

My next class starts on February 16th and is full already. I am going to be adding another class in the spring so if you know anyone interested, please pass my name/number along to them. A referral is the best compliment and I appreciate each and every one.

I realized today that I am officially 1/2 of the way through my current class. The most amazing thing is that I already have 6 people signed up for my next class that starts in February. I have yet to advertise the class and this is all from referrals. Thank you to each and every person that passes my name along to contact about coding classes. I am grateful that everyone is will to do this.

As for an update, I passed my CPMA exam with a score of 88%. I have already ordered the next study guide for my next certification. I figure I can max out with certifications soon. Yes I am that much of a coding nerd, and I love it.

This week has been a phenomenal week as I have two students that found out they have passed the CPC certification exam, one has obtained a job in less than 6 weeks after getting certified, and two students tested with me today. Yes - I did another certification test today for my CPMA - Certified Professional Medical Auditor. I am keeping fingers crossed that I will be as successful as my students.

I am so excited to say that my coding classes are finally paying off. I will be having 2 previous students work in my department and currently working on getting 3 more hired at Intermountain. I have found amazing talent that have learned coding so well and am excited to have them be part of the Intermountain Healthcare team.

I start another class on August 19th and only have 2 more openings for the class. So excited to see who from this class will end up working with the amazing Revenue Integrity team at Intermountain!

Happy Father's day to all the great father's out there. There are so many supportive fathers who watch their kids so the moms can futher their career in coding. Thank you for all you do since you are such a great support. I have my own wonderful supportive father in my life who watches Isaac so I can enjoy teaching coding classes. WIthout him, my wonderful adventure in coding education wouldn't have been possible. Have a great day everyone!
