Receiving interest from the IRS may seem generous at first, but that is considered "income" to you and is always reportable on the 1040. And they will penalize you if you don't report it. Beware!

Texans beware.
Let's talk home equity loans.
If your previous home equity loan was rolled into a refinance where you borrowed against your equity, your mortgage could have a cash-out loan. But there's a catch. Some lenders have policies that won't allow a separate home equity loan behind an existing cash-out mortgage. Instead, they require you to refinance the entire mortgage again.

With mortgage interest rates over 6%, your options of whether this is a good deal or not depends on the balance of your mortgage. Comment and we can discuss!
