Running a Food Truck or Mobile Food Business in Texas? Major changes took effect July 1, 2026. House Bill 2844 now requires a statewide DSHS license, replacing many local registrations and introducing three license categories: Type I, Type II, and Type III, based on how food is prepared and served.
