I always like to give some recognition to the businesses that support AI Exchange Hub, and Tandem San Antonio has been there since the beginning. If you haven't had a chance to visit them yet, there's a lot more to this place than what you might expect.
Tandem brings together coffee, food, craft beer, and wine in a relaxed setting with one of the best outdoor spaces in the area. They also stay busy throughout the week with different events, live entertainment, and specials that give you plenty of reasons to come back. Whether you're looking for somewhere to hang out for a while or you're checking out what's happening that evening, Tandem has created a space that feels very much connected to the local community.
I'm grateful to have a local business like Tandem supporting what we're building with AiX, and we'll be back September 16 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM for our next event.

During my recent visit to Hallmark University, I had another opportunity to sit down with the Dean and learn more about how artificial intelligence is beginning to fit into higher education.
What I found interesting is how broad the use already is. Different departments are finding their own applications, whether it's supporting research, improving communication, developing presentations, or experimenting with new workflows. Faculty and staff are learning where these tools can be useful while continuing to figure out where they fit within their existing responsibilities.
The conversation becomes more complicated when students enter the picture. AI can be an incredible learning tool, but universities also have to think about how students should use it, what appropriate use looks like, and where guidelines need to be established. With the technology changing so quickly, those answers aren't necessarily going to stay the same.
This is a conversation happening throughout higher education right now. AI isn't something institutions can simply ignore, but adopting it also requires thought about how it should be used responsibly.
I appreciate Hallmark University giving me an opportunity to learn more about what they're experiencing firsthand. These are exactly the kinds of conversations I want to continue documenting through AI Exchange Hub because they give us a much better picture of what AI adoption actually looks like beyond the headlines.

With the school year starting again, learning is on everyone's mind. Kids are heading back to the classroom, college students are starting another semester, and plenty of adults are continuing to learn new skills along the way.
AI adds an interesting layer to all of this because the technology itself keeps evolving. The good news is that these tools can also help us learn how to use them. You can ask questions, experiment, and have AI walk you through something you've never done before.
You don't have to keep up with everything. You just have to keep learning.
I look forward to continuing that conversation with everyone at AI Exchange Hub on September 16!

A big part of what I'm building with AI Exchange Hub happens through conversations. I want to hear directly from people who are actually putting this technology to work and understand what that looks like inside their business or organization.
I've already had the opportunity to sit down with people from very different industries. Some are pretty far along with AI, while others are finding simple ways to incorporate it into what they already do. Those differences are what make these interviews interesting because you get to see where AI adoption actually is instead of only hearing predictions about where it's supposed to be going.
As this project continues to grow, I want to have more of these conversations and hear from people I haven't met yet. Maybe you're a vibe coder working on your own project. Maybe something is happening inside your company and you've become involved with it. You might even be at the very beginning and simply testing an idea to see if it works. I'm interested in hearing about that process and eventually sharing more of these experiences through AI Exchange Hub.
If you're working on something you'd like to share, send me a message and tell me about it. We can connect, learn a little more about what you're working on, and see about setting up a future AI Exchange Hub interview.

I’m genuinely grateful to Tandem San Antonio for the role they have played in the early growth of AiX. When this idea was still taking shape, they gave us the opportunity to use their space to host our events, and that meant a great deal to me. Beyond that support, they have built a welcoming place for the community through coffee, wine, beer, food, and a wide range of local experiences that bring people together.
AiX was created to make conversations around technology more accessible, grounded, and useful to everyday people. The goal is to help people expand their knowledge, explore new opportunities, and think seriously about how these tools can serve communities in thoughtful and practical ways.
I know work like this will bring different reactions, and I welcome that. These conversations matter. My hope is that questions or concerns lead to thoughtful dialogue, because this technology is already helping people across many sectors solve problems, improve how they work, and create new possibilities.
This platform is also about inviting community leaders, city officials, and others to come see what this movement is about and explore how this technology can help strengthen districts, open doors, and create meaningful impact across our cities. I’m committed to moving forward with openness, respect, and a willingness to have real conversation, and I look forward to having these conversations on September 16, 2026.

I recently listened to an episode of the Digital Disruption podcast that explored how organizations across different industries are adapting to artificial intelligence. What stood out to me wasn't a new AI tool. It was seeing how large organizations are already changing the way they operate and preparing for what's coming next.
It's easy to assume these changes only affect major corporations, but that's rarely how technology evolves. Large organizations often become the testing ground before new ideas find their way into small businesses, nonprofits, schools, and everyday workflows. Paying attention to what they're doing today provides a glimpse into what many of us may be facing tomorrow.
I welcome this technology because I see the opportunities it creates, but I also recognize that it raises important questions about jobs, education, privacy, and how organizations continue to create value. Those are conversations worth having now, not after the changes have already arrived.
That's why I enjoy sharing podcasts, business examples, and real-world use cases through AI Exchange Hub. The more we understand what's happening today, the better prepared we'll be to make thoughtful decisions tomorrow.

I recently met with Dr. Refugio Martinez, Associate Dean of the School of Business and Technology at Hallmark University , to discuss how AI is shaping the future of education, business, and workforce development.
When I started this project, I envisioned something like this from the beginning. After talking with so many business owners, it became clear that bridging the gap between education and real-world examples has real potential. There is a real opportunity to create something practical and community-centered that helps students gain hands-on experience while also creating value for local businesses.
Hallmark University and the AI Exchange Hub may have an opportunity to work together in a way that supports education, collaboration, and long-term community impact.
This is only the beginning, and I’m excited to keep building on it as we shape a model that opens new doors for students, strengthens local businesses, and creates room for meaningful growth. San Antonio is just the beginning. I can see this working in every city as part of a broader effort to help businesses of all sizes grow through real-world partnerships. More updates will be shared soon as the next steps come together.
I also look forward to posting more about how Hallmark staff are using AI and how they are integrating AI into their curriculum.

One of the reasons I continue hosting AI Exchange Hub at Tandem Coffee, Wine & Beer is because it has become much more than a coffee shop. Throughout the week you'll find live music, comedy nights, community gatherings, and people meeting to work, study, or simply connect over a cup of coffee. It's the kind of place where conversations happen naturally, making it the perfect setting for bringing together people who are curious about AI and technology.
I've spent quite a bit of time working there over the past several months, and it's become interesting to see how often AI enters the conversation. Every now and then I'll notice someone with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT, or another AI platform open on their laptop. I'll usually walk over, introduce myself, and ask one simple question: "So, what are you working on?" More often than not, that leads to conversations about new business ideas, software projects, automations, or creative ways people are experimenting with AI. It's a reminder that innovation isn't limited to large companies. Sometimes it's happening at the table right next to you.
Tandem has also begun exploring practical ways technology can support its own operations, looking at small automations that help streamline day-to-day tasks while allowing the team to spend more time focused on the customer experience. It's the same approach many small businesses are beginning to take as they discover where AI can save time without changing the personal relationships that make local businesses special.
If you'd like to meet others exploring AI, exchange ideas, and see how this technology is being applied across different industries, I'd love to have you join us at our next AI Exchange Hub gathering.
