San Antonio has lost an incredible person, my condolences to his family and close colleagues 💔

Our Port community is deeply saddened by the loss of David Monroe.

David was a force for good who transformed countless lives he touched.

To the Port team, he was a friend and partner who inspired us and, through his beloved SAMSAT and museum team, worked hand in hand in a shared vision to make the world a better place.

To tens of thousands of people—youngsters and adults alike—he was a tireless leader deeply committed to providing opportunities to lifelong learning. He sparked people’s imagination, encouraged their curiosity, and presented innovative and exciting ways to acquire new knowledge and prepare for big futures ahead.

His profile loomed large in our community and across the world for his many accomplishments in the advancement of transformative technologies.

Most of all, we remember him for his constant positive energy, his good humor and ever-humble nature. He led by example and saw the good in every person and the world around him as a place of endless possibilities.

David was an inspiration to us all.

We miss him greatly.

Today, I had the honor of attending a citizenship ceremony where over 1,550 new citizens took their oath of allegiance to the United States. 🇺🇸

As I watched, I couldn’t help but reflect on my own journey—I was a teenager when I walked a similar process. Standing there today reminded me of the hope, excitement, and pride that comes with becoming an American.

Congratulations to each and every new citizen—your journeys inspire us all. Welcome home! 🎉

💔 Tragedy has struck. Charlie Kirk’s life was taken too soon, leaving behind a wife without her husband, children without their father, and a family without their son.

This heartbreaking act of violence is a reminder that hate only destroys. Today, let us choose compassion, pray for his family, and hold our loved ones closer. 🙏

Student outcomes will not change until adult behavior changes. 🌟

In my recent workshop, I was reminded that in a time filled with so many unethical characters, real impact begins with us. We must take change personally—choosing every day to stand up for what’s right and for those who need us most.

The future of our youth depends on the choices we make today. Let’s be the adults they can count on. 💪📚

🎉 What an amazing time at the South San Back to School Bash this weekend! 🎉

Our community truly came together to kick off the school year in the best way possible. We had a fantastic turnout, with students and families receiving a ton of back-to-school supplies, free haircuts, immunizations, and a whole host of valuable resources.

A huge thank you to all the vendors and everyone who came out to support and celebrate with us. I’m beyond excited for the upcoming school year! 📚✏️
