Thank you grandpa for being one of the biggest parts of who I am. Thank you honor guards for being a part of his funeral service.

Thank you for being the giver, the helpful hand, the man who was always giving opportunity to those in need. From within arms reach to overseas. I was always watching, learning how to see the beauty & wisdom in the world through sharing silent moments. Even now I am still unraveling the lessons learned in hindsight.

The dedicated craftsman with gentle calused hands, who's strength, love and laughs that will continue to gift more than a generation. A man that truely appreciated the simplicity of life and the world around him.

🤔🧐 - I had to wait a while with the polymerized linseed oil & the shotgun. Hand rubbing a slow drying oil w/ multiple coats & days on days of drying. I still am not sanding it to save all the family history, the name carved into it & wear, ect.

🤔🧐 - Almost forgot about these! My grandfather gave me some WW1 & WW2 knives and bayonet. The bayonet is a WW1 U.S. M1905 RIA 1919 (reissued for WW2 with M3 carbon fiber scabbard) for the M1903 Springfield rifle & M1-Garand.

The 6-inch knife is a U.S. WW2 Cattaraugus 225Q Commando fighting knife. Which was one of the only WW2 knifes designed to be drawn from the left.

Just going to treat the rust, keep it from eating away anymore of it. I was surprised by some of the selling prices of both of these.

I just wanted to thank everyone who follows, has been supportive in life and online ❤️. Means a lot more than you think 😅😁😁. I've been amazed at how many people have offered friendly advice and tips, or have asked questions. which for those of you who have asked me I always try to get back to you and leave probably wayyyy too much information. 😅😅.

🤔🧐 - part 2 of fixing my grandfather's shotgun. In my defense it was already cracked, but I slipped while unscrewing the mechanism from the stock. 🤦‍♂️ 💁‍♂️ On the bright side it's better it happened where I had the missing piece. The area was very thin so I thickened the finish, it's mine so I didn't try to blend it in. More like a friendly reminder to myself & my own mark in it's history 🥰

I found the original specs and parts sheets. He said he got it in high-school for like $50. He gave them to me after selling his farm. It wasn't too dirty (2nd-3rd picture). Unfortunately the stock was cracking & then I finished it off when I disassembled 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️....
