One of the BEST things about Whitecap Beach & North Padre Island is that you can actually drive and park your car RIGHT on the beach next to your setup! 🏖️
No long walks carrying coolers, chairs, umbrellas, fishing gear, kids toys or beach bags 😅
Just pull up, park near the water, and enjoy the day with your family, friends, pets, fishing rods, BBQ and ocean views.
To park directly on the beach, you’ll need a Beach Parking Permit.
✨ 2026 Beach Permit:
✔ Only about $12 per year
✔ Valid January 1 – December 31
✔ Works on many Gulf beaches around Corpus Christi & Padre Island
✔ One permit = unlimited beach visits all year long
You can buy the permit at:
• H-E-B
• Stripes gas stations
• Circle K
• Murphy USA
• Corpus Christi City Hall
• Texas A&M Corpus Christi
• Padre Balli Park Office
Some permits are even sold directly near the beach access roads.
