What a great way to end the week! We were so proud to see our Partner/Co-founder, Anita Fernández, share her invaluable perspective as the Vice-Chair of the University Health Board of Managers and Board Member of Community First Health Plans during the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce "Power of Líderes: Mapping Healthcare" event this morning.

Healthcare is not only essential to the well-being of our community—it is also one of the region's strongest drivers of economic growth, workforce development, and opportunity. As our city continues to evolve, thoughtful discussions that connect healthcare, education, business, and talent development are critical to shaping what comes next. As Anita shared, "healthcare goes way beyond the four walls of a hospital or a clinic, and once you look at it from that perspective, then you truly begin to meet the community where they are."

We're grateful to Anita for representing OCI Group, University Health, and CFHP, and her insight, experience, and commitment to community impact. Thank you to all the presenters and panelists who contributed to this meaningful discussion, and to all of the leaders who are working to address healthcare and the non-medical drivers of health throughout our city.

We are thrilled to announce that Olivia, Partner & Co-founder, has been selected for the 2026 United States - Spain Council Young Leaders Program cohort!

This distinguished cohort of mid-career professionals will participate in a high-level exchange in Madrid and Palma de Mallorca this May, engaging with Spain’s policymakers, business leaders, and key institutions. The program provides direct dialogue and firsthand exposure to Spain's economic, political, and social landscape. This dynamic group of leaders will be tasked with bringing fresh perspectives, bold ideas, and a shared commitment to strengthening U.S.–Spain relationships.

Olivia's work at OCI Group and in all that she is involved with, including her boards and volunteerism, is critical because of her keen expertise in aligning policy with community needs to maximize impact and benefit. "Rose Lathan, 65, moved into an apartment at one of those complexes, Vista at Silver Oaks, early last year. Opportunity Home San Antonio, Atlantic Pacific Cos. and OCI Development built the 76-unit, $29.3 million property with $3.3 million from the bond.

Lathan, who was injured in a car accident and now receives disability assistance, said she relocated to San Antonio from a rural community north of Austin in search of better medical care. She said she found Vista at Silver Oaks while searching for apartments online and was thrilled when her application for a Vista unit was accepted.

She said she appreciates the newness, cleanliness and safety of the complex, a big improvement over other places she’s lived. Lathan frequently takes long walks around the property and visits a city senior center about two miles away.

“I love it here,” Lathan said."
