PPDG’s Company founder, Ana Maria Lecea, had a dream. It was a dream which became a mission, and one which she wanted to share with as many people as possible. She built an organization based on a four-part mission statement. The first 3 parts were developed over time and relationships. They have been published numerous times over PPDG’s 41 years.
The first three parts of The Mission speak of 1) excellence, 2) social responsibility, and 3) integrity. Each part was developed in service to the fourth. The quietly held forth part was and remains the keystone and driving force behind the previous three. It was Ana Maria’s mission to demonstrate her unwavering faith in GOD the Creator. By writing PPDG’s Mission statement as she did, she followed the teachings of her Savior: “The first shall be last, and the last shall be first”. In that way she honored and served GOD, and HIS blessing of Redemptive Freedom.
Ana Maria believed the secret to achieving excellence was putting forth one’s full effort into one’s work, plus “just a little bit more”. Her tireless drive resulted in her being the recipient of numerous accolades from publications such as Forbes Magazine, Hispanic Business Magazine’s Top 500 Fastest Growing Businesses and by The San Antonio Business Journal. Organizations such as San Antonio’s Small Businesses Administration, SA’s Woman Owed Business Communities, and the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame have all honored her and received the benefit of her mentorship.
Ana Maria Lecea held her standards high as an inspiration for others to achieve their own excellence. She touched many lives. She encouraged creativity, innovation and growth. Her life experience provided us with a purpose for life which contributed to the development of a personal and professional mission of each of those whose lives she touched.
While we must say goodbye to Ana Maria Lecea for now, her dream for PPDG, PPDG’s concept of Linked Prosperity and our moto “Innovation and Prosperity Through Teamwork” will continue to inspire us to pursue excellence and our highest ideals to do good within our communities.
