🏆 A Family Legacy Built on Second Chances

We are incredibly proud that River City Steel & Recycling has been honored with the 2026 Family Legacy Excellence Award by the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

As a third-generation recycler, Justin Newell Triesch was deeply shaped by the teachings of his grandfather, Alton Newell, who taught him the importance of working hard, treating people with dignity, and above all, helping others whenever you can.

Today, Justin carries those lessons forward at River City Steel — doing what he can for his employees, helping where he can, and most importantly, giving second chances to people who need an opportunity and are truly committed to changing their lives.

That is the legacy we are most proud to continue.

We attended the Manufacturing Employer Collaborative today hosted by Workforce Solutions Alamo and Alamo Colleges District, and left energized and full of new ideas.
We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in this roundtable discussion focused on workforce solutions in manufacturing. One theme that stood out was the need for greater awareness on both sides of the equation—employers and talent alike—about the many career opportunities and pathways available in manufacturing.
Manufacturing offers meaningful, rewarding careers, but connecting the right people to those opportunities requires ongoing collaboration, education, and engagement.
We look forward to continuing this important conversation and being part of the solution.

We are incredibly proud to share that Justin and River City Steel & Recycling have received the 2026 Workforce Solutions Alamo Impact Award – Empowerment Bridge Award.

This recognition means a lot because it reflects something deeply rooted in the culture at RCS: giving people second chances through employment, believing in growth, and helping others move forward when they need it most.

For many years, Justin has led with heart—supporting employees not only professionally, but personally as well. A cause especially close to him is addiction recovery, workforce development, and helping individuals rebuild stability and confidence through meaningful work opportunities.

We are honored that Workforce Solutions Alamo recognized the impact that compassion, opportunity, and belief in people can have on individuals, families, and our community.
