Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a time to reflect on the courage, service, and selflessness of those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

We also hold close the families who carry the weight of that sacrifice and honor the veterans in our community whose stories remind us of the true meaning of service.

At CareBuilders at Home, it is our privilege to care for many veterans and military families who have sacrificed so much for others. Their strength, resilience, and dedication inspire us daily.

Today, we remember. We honor. We are grateful. ❤️🤍💙

When people think about home care, they often think about help with bathing, meals, housekeeping, or rides to appointments.

But sometimes… it’s so much more than that. ❤️

One of our clients had slowly stopped living life.

After losing her spouse, she spent most days sitting alone in the same chair. She stopped cooking. Stopped going anywhere. Even simple daily tasks became overwhelming. Her family worried constantly, but like so many seniors, she insisted she was “fine.”

When care first started, she barely spoke to anyone.

Our caregiver began showing up a few days a week — helping around the house, preparing meals, encouraging her to get dressed for the day, and simply sitting with her to talk.

At first, the changes were small.

Then one day, her daughter called us crying.

She said:
“My mom laughed today… really laughed. I haven’t heard that in over a year.”

A few weeks later she was going to the grocery store again. Getting her hair done. Asking to stop for coffee after appointments. Looking forward to visits instead of dreading the day.

That’s the part people don’t always see.

Home care is not just about tasks.
It’s about restoring confidence.
It’s about companionship.
It’s about helping someone feel human again.

Making a difference in someone’s life during their most vulnerable moments is one of the greatest privileges imaginable. 💕

Many veteran families don't realize that quality, professional in-home care may be partially or fully covered through VA programs.

VA Aid & Attendance is one of the most underutilized veteran benefits available. Designed specifically for veterans and surviving spouses who need assistance with daily living.

If your loved one is a veteran and struggles with:

→ Bathing, grooming, or dressing independently
→ Mobility or fall risk
→ Medication management
→ Meal preparation
→ Companionship and daily check-ins
..they may qualify for benefits that help cover in-home care at little or no cost to your family.

Applications take time. The earlier you start the better.

Our team at CareBuilders at Home Inland Empire will help guide you through every step.

Drop a ✅ if you have a veteran in your family. DM us or call to learn about benefit eligibility free, no commitment.

🚨 DID YOU KNOW? 🚨

The signs of a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) in seniors can look VERY different than they do in younger adults.

While many people think of symptoms like burning or pain when urinating, seniors often experience completely different warning signs that are commonly mistaken for “just getting older.”

Signs of a UTI in seniors may include:
⚠️ Sudden confusion or increased forgetfulness
⚠️ Agitation or unusual behavior changes
⚠️ Increased falls or weakness
⚠️ Extreme fatigue or sleeping more than normal
⚠️ Loss of appetite
⚠️ Dizziness
⚠️ Hallucinations or increased anxiety
⚠️ Incontinence or sudden accidents

In some cases, confusion may be the ONLY symptom.

Because UTIs can progress quickly in older adults, early recognition is so important. If your loved one suddenly “just isn’t acting like themselves,” it may be worth speaking with their doctor.

At CareBuilders at Home, we believe education and early intervention matter. Sometimes noticing the small changes can make a very big difference. ❤️

"Getting older isn't the problem. Being overlooked is."

May is both Mental Health Awareness Month and Older Americans Month.

And there's a connection worth naming.

Seniors are among the most at-risk populations for depression and social isolation and among the least likely to receive mental health support.

Because they grew up in a generation that pushed through. That didn't ask for help. That equated struggle with weakness.

If your aging parent seems withdrawn, sad, or disconnected don't dismiss it as "just getting older."

Depression is not a normal part of aging.
Isolation is not inevitable.
And asking for help is one of the most courageous things a person can do at any age.

Consistent, compassionate presence in the home makes a measurable difference. We see it every day.

Elena called us in February.

Her mother, Rose, had been living alone since her husband passed. She was physically fine getting around, managing. But something had changed. The light in her eyes had dimmed.

"She watches TV all day and doesn't talk much anymore," Elena said. "I'm worried it's more than grief."

We matched Rose with Maria one of our most experienced caregivers in the Inland Empire three days a week.

Within two weeks, Maria had learned that Rose loved old movies, had a wicked sense of humor, and hadn't had a real conversation over a meal in months.

She gave her both.

When Elena called again last month, she was almost crying the good kind.

"Mom called Maria her friend. She hasn't called anyone her friend in years."

This is why we do what we do.

If your loved one is lonely or losing their spark reach out. We have caregivers who become true companions. Link in bio.

We don't have to tell you we're good.
Our families do that for us.

Here's what we hear most:

"They actually called us back."
"My mom connected with her caregiver immediately."
"They explained everything without rushing us."
"It felt like they genuinely cared not just about the paperwork."

We're not the biggest home care agency in the Inland Empire.

But we work every day to be the most trusted one.

That means consistent caregivers. Clear communication. Compassionate service. And a team that picks up the phone.

If you're exploring care for a loved one, we'd love the chance to earn your trust too.

If you're managing medications for an aging parent, try asking their doctor this at every appointment:

"Is there anything on this list we can simplify?"

As seniors age, medication lists grow — often without anyone reviewing them as a whole system. Side effects stack. Interactions get missed.

One simple question opens a conversation that can genuinely improve your loved one's quality of life.

Other habits that help:

→ Use a weekly pill organizer with AM/PM sections
→ Link medication time to a daily routine — morning coffee, meals
→ Keep an updated list posted somewhere visible in the home
→ Ask the pharmacy about blister packaging for easier tracking

Small systems create real safety.
And real safety creates peace of mind — for everyone.

Save this and share it with a family caregiver. For more hands-on support, visit carebuildersathome.com/inland-empire

🚨 The Reality After Discharge 🚨

1 in 3 patients discharged from the hospital without support end up right back there.

Why?
Because the transition home is harder than it seems—medication changes, limited mobility, confusion, and no one there to notice when something isn’t right.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

💙 Having support at home can significantly reduce the risk of rehospitalization.

A caregiver can:
✔ Help manage medications and routines
✔ Assist with mobility and daily tasks
✔ Monitor for changes in condition
✔ Provide communication with family and care teams

It’s not just about care—it’s about preventing setbacks and protecting recovery.

Don’t leave recovery to chance. The right support at home can make all the difference.
