If you live for 82 years and have 15 conversations a day, that’s approximately 450,000 conversations in a lifetime. Do you want to spend these conversations talking about the weather? Your ailments? People who don’t think twice about you?

What if we traded the unmemorable, superficial B.S. for conversations that genuinely foster LIFE-- conversations that matter?

How about we trade:

· How are you?

· What do you do?

· And, what’s up?

For the likes of…

· What’s the biggest dream you have right now?

· What’s the best/worst thing going on in your life right now?

· What scares the s**t out of you?

· When was the last time you belly laughed? Cried?

· What’s the most interesting conversation you’ve had in the couple of weeks?

· Who/what brings you the most joy in life ?

· What book(s) has influenced you the most?

· If you could know the absolute truth to one question, what would it be?

LOVE’S GOAL ISN’T EFFICIENCY; IT’S PRESENCE.

The gift of presence says, “If I’m here, I’m not anywhere else. I could be many places but I chose to be here and nowhere else.

I said no to everything and everyone else in the world to be with you here, now, because you are my highest priority.

PRESENCE. It might be the ultimate expression of love.

With presence you are giving the totality of who you are, the very thing of which your life is made. You are giving your life away. And a voice echoes down through the corridors of time, “I am with you always, even until the end of the age.”

If you’ve ever been with someone who’s not really there when they are there, you know what it’s like to feel dismissed, unimportant, unworthy. Some of the busiest, most successful and delightful people we know are available and approachable. They talk to everyone. Mostly as students, not teachers. They are all in. You see it, feel it and know it by their focus. They make you feel worthy, accepted and sometimes bigger than life.

That’s why people beat a path to their door.

When you really matter to someone that person will take the time to know you. No excuses, no me-too stories, no lies, no broken promises. Surround yourself with an epic tribe.

If people are genuinely interested in you and want you in their life, they will make room for you. You won’t have to fight for a spot. Be that person.

You are known by the company you keep. Sometimes your tribe needs to decrease in size so it can increase in value. Surround yourself with people who stimulate your thoughts, touch your heart, nourish your soul and give you the courage to change.
