“I have decided to stick with LOVE. Hate is too great a burden to bear” - MLK
Dr. King and Coretta Scott King first met right here in our hometown of Boston. Unveiled this past Friday, “The Embrace” by sculpture Hank Willis Thomas is a new towering bronze memorial standing in Boston Common. It’s dedicated to racial equity and depicts the couple embracing after learning he won the Nobel Peace Prize. ❤️
“Boston became the place where we forged a partnership that would change America and make a powerful contribution to the Black freedom struggle. That’s what I see in this beautiful monument,” said MLK III, son of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., during the unveiling.
