"Satisfaction is a lowly thing, how pure a thing is joy." - Marianne Moore. Ever watch ants? They're like us. Scurrying from place to place, hauling a load of bread crumbs, bumping into one another, then racing off to the next concrete crevice. For what? Three days later rain comes, destroys the ant hill, and washes away the collected crumbs. Worse, a biped human racing out of his own concrete crevice (read: house or apartment) to haul a load (read: job) unsuspectingly steps on and crushes the little ant. [ 474 more words ]
