Yesterday, August 29th, I had the distinct pleasure and honor of serving as a table facilitator for eight BIPOC young ladies in High School at the Women in NAACP (WIN) Women’s Wellness Seminar.
What an impactful, timely, and much-needed event!
Kristen Newsome, M.Ed., PCC, thank you for inviting me to be part of this incredible experience and for trusting me to contribute by facilitating meaningful conversations at the youth table. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to pour into the next generation while being surrounded by a room full of women committed to wellness, empowerment, equity, and access.🙏🏽
What I appreciated most was that this event recognized that wellness is not one-size-fits-all—and it doesn’t belong to just one stage of life. From youth to adulthood and beyond, having access to the knowledge, resources, relationships, and conversations that support our physical, financial, emotional, and community wellness matters.
And let me just say… I have been singing your praises since yesterday! 🙏🏽🩵
The intentionality behind this event, the caliber of the speakers and panelists, the resources, the conversations, and the overall experience were EXCELLENT.
I was so impressed that I’ve already invited about six people to check out future WIN events. That’s how strongly I believe in what you’re creating‼️
✅This work is important.
✅This conversation is necessary.
✅And this kind of space is needed.
Thank you to Kristin, the WIN Committee, and everyone who helped bring this beautiful event to life.
I’m looking forward to continuing to support WIN, the BIPOC youth, and My Sister’s Keeper Success Institute (MSKSI) as we continue creating opportunities for women and girls to access the tools, resources, connections, and support they need to thrive across the lifespan.
🩵 Grateful to have been in the room.
🩵Grateful to have contributed.
🩵And grateful to witness what happens when a community comes together with intention.
