You can make the changes yourself or contract me to do it, whichever first your time and budget better.

I made the soup, the dishcloth, and the painting on the lock screen. For some reason soup seems like too much effort UNLESS I'm sick. But this morning I used all of the energy for the day to chop vegetables and throw them in a pot and that's what we're eating. My pro tip for making soup is to keep vegan soup base concentrate in the fridge. That way when you get COVID you can just throw all the veggies in your fridge in a giant pot with some soup base and it will feel like someone cares about you, and that someone is the you that bought soup base.

You won't see me today! I'm staying home! I got all dressed up for the Mystic Market and both my helpers (which I need at least one of) are out of commission. So my dimple is rolling for no reason. But if there's a sexy punk rock emergency that requires little to no physical exertion I'M READY FOR IT!

✨ Check my website if you were hoping to pick something up from me, and DM with pendulum questions.

✨ I'm still booking business clients!

New essay drop
In 1993 Kimberly Crenshaw coined the term “intersectionality” as a way to help us understand the complicated situatedness that we all experience as individuals. The more power and privilege you have the less complicating the web of identities is for you. What I really desperately needed when I first put my butt down to meditate was permission to sit there in my intersection.

As I sit and meditate I sit in the intersection of all the identities and roles, all the selfs I contain. If I want to learn to meditate (or to do anything for that matter) I generally have to pick up one of my identities as a thread to follow. This identity/thread becomes a line on a map that takes me to a certain place. For example, I practice yoga, such that it is part of my identity. I could follow that identity/thread to learn to meditate at a yoga studio, and be taught as a yoga student. Perhaps that meditation paradigm doesn’t work well for the other giant net of identity/threads that I normally sit in, my intersection. So, do I abandon those parts of myself to meditate as a yogi? If I decided instead to meditate with a women’s group, I am generally presented with a pre-formed concept of what it means to be a woman that holds well enough for the group and again have to figure out on my own whether the rest of my identity/threads can use this approach.

In the full essay I share how this impacted my meditation practice and how we can use this information to meet ourselves where we are.

I love being called Sister so much. I knew this box was either from my own Sister or someone who knew I'd be excited that they were calling me sister. It was from Sister. Birthday presents are good, but Sisters are better.

That's Karma in the center. How on earth did my Grandma, a Lutheran woman born in Indiana in 1913 end up with a poodle named Karma in 1981? The wonders. I can only think it's because of the mid century saying "Karma's a b***h" which feels in keeping with my grandma's vibe. I mean, it's not my personal view of karma, but it's hilarious coming from Cecil.

I took my favorite walk in the opposite direction today. Highly recommend. Also, when I'm ready to retire to the fae realm I'm going through that arch.
