There are some very common frustrations that 95% of business owners run into. If we can solve these, running your business will be easier, more successful, and more fun. Some days are spent in a conference room working with leadership teams. Other days I get to spend some time listening to audio books on the couch while my son takes a nap on me. Yes, EOS has helped me in my business, but it has also allowed for a greater work / life balance.

A group of explorers was working its way through a jungle, hacking through thick underbrush.

Exhausted after several hours, they stopped to rest. Looking around, the brush was so thick they could only see tree trunks, leaves, and vines as the tunnel they had cleared curved out of sight. It was so thick they hadn’t even realized they weren’t traveling in a straight line.

One young explorer said, “I have an idea. Why don’t we climb a tree so we can see where we’ve been and where we are going?”

When they climbed high enough to see, they became furious. All their hard work had been wasted effort, for they had made an almost complete circle.

Running a business sometimes feels like being caught in a jungle. And even if you’re trying to be careful, it can be easy to get so occupied with hacking away at the day-to-day obstacles that you lose track of your direction.

"Whatever your P/L situation looks like, the Profit and Loss statement is not a good tool to keep a pulse on what’s actually going on in your business. At best it’s two to six weeks behind you. When you do catch something on a P/L you’re too late and the numbers you see aren’t leading indicators, just the final financial results for the month. Jon has been a lifelong entrepreneur. From starting a car detailing company and shoveling snow off roofs during high school, to a shaved ice business he started for his college internship. He then spent the next 18 years building and running different aspects of his family business; Wineries, vineyards, and restaurants. He started planting vineyards and making wine in 2002. That evolved into managing and growing the business from a small family farm into one of the largest wineries in the region, with over 150 employees and the second largest wine club in Washington State.

Implementing EOS was a key ingredient in allowing him to step away from the day to day operations of his company. The simple and powerful tools that EOS provided him helped get the right people in the right seats and focused everyone on achieving one vision.

He is now using his passion for the art and science of business to help businesses and their leadership teams achieve their vision, gain traction, and develop healthy teams by implementing EOS in their organizations.
