I admit that I’m obsessed with mammalian infant feeding. Learned a bit from the caretaker at Rawhide Ranch last weekend. Do you know that I colead my 10yo Girl Scout troop? I’ve got words rumbling in between my ears that mean that this lactation work is my purpose. It’s my craft. When Artists I respect speak or write about their work I feel it in my soul. That’s what this work is for me. An extension of myself that I cannot deny. I have to feed my curiosity and hone my skill and see the families.

Oooohaaah. My bedroom legit looks like this almost every day, all day. Because I need an organized space that I control. I’m practicing what I teach parents. It’s hard AF for me to let my 10 year old have control of her things. It makes me twitchy. But, they know where their things are, they do their own laundry, they dress themselves, they can find what they need when they need it. And that’s one less struggle we have. I close the door when I get twitchy. Maybe they will learn that clean and organized feels better plus it’s the only right way, 😉. Maybe not. And if you wonder how this relates to feeding a baby……………………………………Baby-led latching requires some serious patience and letting go of control. I feel you. It’s worth it. And we will talk about ways to restore you during this feeding journey. The milk maker needs to be restored daily.
