If we take time to think while the thinking is cheap, compared to when we act and have to spend, we can avoid pitfalls. We can avoid things like bad planning, incorrect budgeting and time estimates, not accounting for rouge variables, and poor creative choices when we have the time to adequately iterate the plan, trying it and testing it for viability.
Such good wisdom and surprisingly more rarely implemented than you would expect.
