Why is there fart spray on this Gulfstream carpet? Because oil, wine, and coffee weren’t enough.

Every stain has a pH except solvents. We teach students to test it, neutralize it, and match the whole carpet — we haven’t seen another aircraft detailing course that does.

You already know how to make paint look wet. That skill transfers.

What doesn’t transfer is knowing what to charge. A Gulfstream isn’t a Suburban with wings, and the first time somebody asks you for a number on the ramp, you’ll either quote too low and eat the labor or too high and never hear back.

This is the pricing tool our detailers use. Pull up the make, pull up the model, show the customer a real market average right there on your phone.

They’re averages, not quotes. Your market, your overhead, your call on the final number. But you stop guessing in front of a client.

Dirt doesn’t disappear when you clean leather — it relocates. Every pass moves it off the surface and into the stitching, which is exactly where it sits and grinds. So the seams get cleaned last, after the panel, not before.

Otherwise it’s washing your hands and drying them on the dog.

Keep the rotary flat on paint — that’s the goal.

But as compound builds in the pad, flat starts fighting you. A slight tilt to one side stops the pad from bucking off the surface.

That’s the fix.

Hot take: we’ve been quoting brightwork wrong for years.

On paint nobody thinks twice about charging for each step — cut, polish, done. But on brightwork we throw out one flat number sight unseen and eat every extra pass when the metal comes in beat up.

Quote it by the step. Build a change order in for what you couldn’t see up front. It’s not your fault they let it go.

Conductive cement on de-ice boots is there for a reason — it maintains the electrical bond between the boot and the airframe. Polish it and you degrade it over time. Put sealant on it and strip it off and you take some of that cement with it. We protect it, we work around it, and we never touch it with a pad or a sealant. Mind the gap.

Two stains, into none. Coffee stain neutralized and a grease stain pulled out of the same jet carpet mat using Fly Shiny Oil Delete. The right product makes all the difference.
