Crisis averted. Partnership avoided.

This business owner was contemplating bringing on a business partner. It seemed logical to have someone else be financially and emotionally invested, and share the load.
..until we talked through what goes wrong in most partnerships.

As Dave Ramsey puts it: The only ship that won't sail is a partnership.

If you're considering a business partnership, have the hard conversations first.

If you're already in a business partnership, take the time now to get on the same page.

Design = productive and focused on priorities you decided in advance

Default = lots and lots of email and interruptions

Here's a tip:
1. Plan your day before you even open email or messages.
2. Every new thing that crosses your desk (or inbox) gets weighed against the priorities you already decided.

Decide what your day will be about, or everyone else will do it for you.

Melinda's been a client of mine for about 3-1/2 years.

Back then, if she disappeared for a month, her business would've fallen apart... or she would've worked the whole time she was away to keep it together.
