Tongue tension - resolved! I love sharing tools that help folks with things they have been working on for ages - but suddenly neck pain, tongue tension or something else changes immediately with a brain-based approach. Kati was frequently in a quiet space after putting her baby down for bed, but she showed up week after week and positively LIT UP the chat with her results.

Thank you for sharing your review :) Followers in Oulu, Finland - look up Kati for brain-based training!

🧠 A VOICE PRO’S NERVE RECOVERY STORY
(Spoiler: it changed his whole life.)

Daniel is an R&B artist + voice teacher in LA.

He joined my mentorship to work learn more about neuro and how cranial nerves can help his clients.
✨ He had no idea the impact it would have.

After years of jaw pain from nerve damage, Daniel learned to assess and gently stimulate his trigeminal nerve (CN V).

Not an intense jaw exercise. No manual massage. Just precision-based and an individualized nerve glide.

🎤 What happened next?
✔️ Sensation returned to his jaw.
✔️ His whole body regained flexibility he hadn’t felt since he was 14.
✔️ His neck + wrist pain? Nearly gone.
✔️ Singing became effortless.
✔️ His thinking felt clearer. Movement easier.

Daniel said:
“I felt so happy and confident and at ease. As an artist with ADHD, everything felt lighter.”
🔥 THIS is the science of hope.

Not magic. Not guesswork. Real tools that change lives.

Doors to the 2-week Summer Intensive close in 2 days.

We start Monday.

You’ll learn how to truly LISTEN to the goals of the student (and uncover what’s under the surface).

You’ll start with a worksheet from my workbook that you can personalize as you take notes.

Then, you’ll be able to trust your intuition and feel CONFIDENT using the drills you’ve learned to modify them for the student in front of you.

You can’t go another year without having a framework to help the students you don’t know how to help.

You can’t go another year 💵 undercharging 💵because you know you provide MUCH MORE than singing lessons.

This is how to dumpster fire🔥🗑️🚨😷 proof your business over the next few years.

Comment “Mentorship” to start your investment in rehabilitation and hope for those who need it. ❤️

If you have the urge to p*e right before you perform, you might want to change the signal coming into your brain.

Welcome to the series no one asked for: “eye exercises can help with THAT?!?”

Saccades are rapid, precise eye movements that originate in the midbrain and cerebellum. When your visual system is tracking clearly and moving with intention, the midbrain understands that the threat isn’t real and the urgency signal quiets. Sometimes instantly.

This is why we can do what looks like psychotic thumb-staring exercises before a performance.

The same input that calms your bladder also sharpens your reactions on stage, deepens your presence with a scene partner, and improves your posture and alignment. Holy heck right?!

Vision is the single biggest contributor to balance, and your eyes are running your nervous system whether you know it or not….

Hold both index fingers 6 to 12 inches apart at arm’s length and snap your eyes from one to the other, about 20 times. Then reassess your voice and your body.

Did this work for you??

Does your student unintentionally shake their head when they sing? Sway side to side or forward and back?

The vestibular system is as big as your pinky nail, but if you’ve ever had vertigo, you know it is almost impossible to sing optimally when the room is spinning.

Things to look out for in an injury history with students:

🫨motion sickness
🤕Previous concussions
😱afraid of heights?
👂previous ear infections

There are only 10 directions to learn and you can modify to laying down, sitting or standing in different positions depending on the athlete in front of you.

I’m finding that folks who deal with autoimmune disease or gut issues tend to have deficits in the vestibular system….

That’s because your immunity and anti-inflammation system is closely tied to the inner-ear - the vagus does run EVERYWHERE and the ears are a great way in for some people.

Have you observed any head movement or swaying in the studio?

I did a poll in my stories and over 90% of voice teachers and singers who answered said they struggle with myopia. Whew!...

Check out these tips to train your brain to see far....

In case you are not sure what the implications are as a singer:

-this is a contributor to forward head posture or “text neck” (your phrenic nerve runs out of C3-5 to the diaphragm)

-our instrument is in our neck....accessory muscles will get involved and could have a negative affect on your singing

-this makes you flexor dominant - which means your expansion in the ribs (breathing) is limited so you can “protect” your organs (startle reflex)

-your peripheral vision is not being challenged - which will give you tunnel vision and can cause anxiety

-remember the “use it or lose it” principle - if you are constantly training yourself to see close up (on your phone...) you are not training yourself to see far.

THE BRAIN CAN CHANGE.

Comment below if you try any of them and assess better (or get a better night’s sleep in the last one....) Sleep is a BIG player in daily visual skills.

Try these tips out to improve your (far) vision skill and follow me for more voice tips through a brainy lens!
