Arboreta Group, LLC is a women and minority-owned small business. We’re a collection of nonprofit and business professionals who have over 50 years of combined experience in grant writing, fiscal management, marketing/branding, curriculum and training development, program development and evaluation. Our name, Arboreta Group derives from the plural of arboretum, a diverse collection of trees and pl

ants. Nonprofit and government agencies comprise the landscape that we serve. An arborist’s job is to study, cultivate, and manage trees, working from the inside out and tailoring solutions to help those trees become as strong as they can be. At Arboreta Group we work with clients the same way that arborists work with trees. We recognize that no two clients are the same and we have a diverse skill set to meet the individualized needs of a variety of nonprofits and government agencies.

What makes us different isn’t just what we do, it’s how we do it.

We work with organizations, not on them.
We center equity in structure, not just language.
We build long-term capacity, not short-term fixes.

If we’ve worked together before, consider this a reintroduction.
If we haven’t — we’d love to connect.

Sustained impact requires intentional structure.

After 11+ years partnering with mission-driven organizations, we’ve learned something important: Many leaders know us for a single project or engagement, but not the breadth of how we support long-term capacity.

Arboreta Group was founded because we saw powerful organizations doing meaningful work without the infrastructure and alignment needed to sustain it.

That gap still exists.

Today, we partner with organizations on:
• Strategic & organizational planning
• Equity-centered culture and systems work
• Training & facilitation
• Program design & evaluation
• Fund development strategy
• Board development
• Community engagement

One thing that surprises us is that many current clients only know Arboreta for one service — even though our work often spans across strategy, equity, training, evaluation, funding, and governance.

We’re changing that. We’re reintroducing who we are, how we work, and the full range of ways we support organizations. Stay tuned!

Capacity problems don’t show up all at once. They look like:

💡Leadership exhaustion
💡Staff confusion about priorities
💡Systems that worked three years ago but don’t anymore
💡Strategy that lives in a document, not daily decisions and practice

Capacity isn’t just staffing levels.

✅ It’s alignment.
✅ It’s infrastructure.
✅ It’s clarity.

Strong organizations build capacity intentionally, operationally, strategically, and humanely.

Here are five signs your organization may have outgrown its current systems.
