Get all the deductions that you deserve! If you are an independent contractor or own your own business then you should look into getting a software that tracks your business miles. You will be able to deduct .54 cents per business mile in 2016 (10,000 miles is $5,400 in deductions!). The application automatically records all my mileage and then I periodically classify each driving route as either business or personal. Their service is $5.99 per month.

Everyone should be using this personal finance software! It allows you to connect all of your bank, loan, credit card, and investment accounts into one platform. You'll be able to view big picture trends on your income and expenses as well as set up budgets for certain categories of expenses. You can even set-up financial goals that you can monitor monthly. Tax Tip Time:
If you open a Limited Liability Company in California during the last 15 days of the year then you will not have to pay the $800 franchise fee in that year. This 15 day exception rule only applies if you do not conduct any business during that time period.
