Numerous women came to me to share my story so they could feel comfortable stating their stories.
After my sister's death, I was in San Diego when it happened. So, I changed my life to be closer to home to support my mom. In doing this, I lost a LOT. In San Bernardino, absolutely everyone knew my name and my roar for integral community building. I worked with youth, community events, small businesses, all cultures, all people were welcomed. Most of what I did was about creating for the community a public service because as entrepreneurs we saw more need for Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) & an evolution of how businesses market w/ a human element.
Starting all over again in San Diego was ruff, I didn't know where to go, I worked with big corporate events and big advertising... But I wanted to build ORGANICALLY new!
So, I jumped into SDCFM & supporting Farmers Cup events. I volunteered to create beach cleanups because I had been urging businesses & community projects like this for over a decade.
Out of the blue one day, Johnny posted a social media post trying bully us out of doing a beach cleanup. More tho, he came at ME personally, He ran my name through the dirt... All without knowing me, he never met me, all we had done previously was promote his events. He blocked me. Still, I was able to see how hostile he was, how toxic he was cause people still came with stories.
We had so much drama come from his actions that not only did we have people reporting back horrible stories of bullying, but other organizers experienced the same, and we stopped doing the beach cleanups. While we still supported others doing them, we could not do the larger events where we pulled 250+ people.
While I very much appreciate ANYONE doing good community work, their good values do not give them a free pass to be a bully or act as a predator to women he attracted to his beach cleanups and offered "industry opportunities" to keep their attention. Hiding in values, but once people tug away at the motives for their values, then you can find the truth.. The Predators do not know how their victims feel when they silence them, push them away, and deny their feelings.
