Most immigrant moms were taught this:

Stay loyal to your job.
And hopefully one day life gets easier.

But nobody prepared us for layoffs…
burnout…
inflation…
or missing our children while trying to survive.

I realized I didn’t need to trade ALL my time for income forever.

I could learn a skill online…
build from my phone…
and create another stream of income while still working full-time.

And no…

There was a time when I spent so much
energy worrying about what other people
thought of me.

Was I good enough?
Did I look successful enough?
Did I sound smart enough?
Did I fit the image people expected me to be?

The truth is, I was allowing other people's
opinions to reprogram how I saw myself.

Today, as I sit in my backyard wearing my pajamas, reflecting on life, I realize something beautiful...

Peace comes when you stop trying to be perfect.
Wabi-Sabi, the Japanese philosophy of finding
beauty in imperfection, reminds us that nothing in nature is perfect.

The trees are not perfectly straight.
The ocean waves are never identical.

Even the most beautiful flowers eventually fade.
Yet they are all beautiful because they are
authentic.

The same is true for you.

You don't need to have the perfect body.
You don't need the perfect business.
You don't need the perfect social media feed.
You don't need the perfect life.

Your scars tell a story.
Your struggles carry wisdom.
Your failures taught lessons.
Your imperfections make you human.

And sometimes the very thing you're trying to
hide is the exact thing someone else needs
to see.

Because your story may be the reason someone chooses not to give up.

So today, give yourself permission to be fully you.
