💕 We are proud to have supported the County of Santa Clara Public Health Department and AACI (Asian Americans for Community Involvement) in the recent Asian, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (A/AA and NH/PI) Community Health Worker convening — “Our Experiences, Our Voices: A celebration of Santa Clara County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Health Workers”.

🙏 Richard Calvin Chang, JD, director and a co-founding member of the Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Data Policy Lab at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, provided an inspiring talk about cultivating a common vision for A/AA and NH/PI Community Health Workers and the importance of racial and ethnic data disaggregation.

🙏 Joe Lee, MSHA, founder and principal consultant of Community Health Synergy, shared critical insights about the future of the A/AA and NH/PI Community Health Worker workforce, including key health and social care priorities based on history as the ultimate social determinant of health:

For over 20 years, Rhodora served in leadership positions at the Alameda Health Consortium, APPEAL — Asian Pacific Partners for Empowerment, Advocacy and Leadership, New York University Center for the Study of Asian American Health, and Asian American Recovery Services, Inc. focused on fundraising and resource development, community-based participatory research, and workforce equity.

🌺 In honor of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Community Health Synergy would like to recognize Tafilisaunoa Toleafoa, Executive Director of Pacific Community of Alaska, for her leadership in advancing health equity for Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities across Alaska.

📣 Recently, Tafilisaunoa was recognized among a group of outstanding young professionals as the Class of 2024 Top Forty Under 40 by the Alaska Journal of Commerce: https://www.adn.com/alaska-journal/2024/03/15/2024-top-forty-under-40-announced/. Congratulations, Tafilisaunoa!
