This summer, one of our male members traveled to Japan to meet potential future partners, and he shared his incredible travel experiences with us (leaving out the dating details). My July 2024 trip to Japan was packed with memorable experiences!
In Ueno, I visited the National Museum of Nature and Science, where I learned about Japan’s unique geological history and diverse ecosystems, and the Tokyo National Museum, which houses ancient artwork and national treasures.
In Yokohama, I explored the Planetarium, Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, Chinatown, and even Costco! Sea Paradise was a blend of aquarium and amusement park, and Costco surprised me with its unique offerings.
Osaka was hot, both in temperature and atmosphere, as I tried to buy a Rolex, discovering it’s as challenging in Japan as it is in the US.
Ginza and Chiyoda City in Tokyo were my favorites, offering unparalleled shopping, dining, and ambiance. I enjoyed browsing Mitsukoshi Mall, Ginza Tanaka, and the Imperial Hotel’s shops. I also visited the Nezu Museum in Omotesando for a relaxing experience, and the TeamLabs exhibit in Roppongi Hills for a sensory overload.
A standout meal was at Manryu, a Chinese restaurant near Shin Ochanomizu Station, where I had an incredible lunch for just 950 yen.
Overall, this trip was one of my best in 14 years, rivaling my first visit in 2010. Japan holds a special place in my heart, and I already miss it. I hope to return soon!
