Here's a question we'd encourage every executive to ask this week:

For each AI initiative your team is running right now: do you know if it's actually working?

Not "is it running." Not "did we launch it." But: is it delivering real business value?

There are three signals that tell you immediately:

✅ The team has the authority to act on AI outputs without waiting for approval
✅ There are feedback loops in place that validate whether the AI is moving the right metrics
✅ There is a clear, specific outcome the initiative is optimizing for

When all three are true, AI compounds, teams learn faster, decisions improve, and value builds.

But when even one is missing, the best technology in the world stalls because the organization around it wasn't ready to use what it produced.

Which of these three does your organization do best, and which needs the most work? We'd love to hear. 👇

When was the last time you asked your frontline team what they actually think of your AI rollout?

Harvard Business Review just published a study of 85 frontline workers across six industries. More than three-quarters were dissatisfied with their AI training. Many didn't know how their roles would change or whether they'd have a place in the future at all.

The authors' conclusion: the best manufacturers build AI with workers, not for them.

The best organizations build AI with their operating model in mind.

Trust in AI is built through clarity about who has the authority to act on AI outputs, whether AI is actually delivering value, and what success looks like.

When those three things are present, teams trust the system they helped shape, and leaders trust the investment they can see it working.

This is what AI readiness actually looks like.

How many approvals does it take for your organization to make a single customer-facing decision?

Count the handoffs. Count the waiting. Count how many priorities stall before they ever make it to a customer.

If decisions take weeks, the issue probably isn’t AI. It’s ex*****on.

That’s something companies like PayPal recognized early. By reducing friction, speeding up decision-making, and empowering teams to move faster, they were able to dramatically improve speed to market and product delivery.

Because AI by itself doesn’t create business agility.

The organizations seeing the strongest results from AI are building the systems around it: faster feedback loops, empowered cross-functional teams, aligned priorities, and outcomes tied directly to customer value.

The companies that move fastest with AI likely won’t be the ones with the most tools. They’ll be the ones with the fewest bottlenecks.

One of the most overlooked parts of an Agile transformation? The Project Manager who was expected to adapt overnight without much guidance.

Your skills didn’t suddenly stop mattering when your organization adopted Agile. In fact, stakeholder alignment, coordination, delivery discipline, and leadership are often the exact strengths Scrum teams still need most.

The real challenge was that many PMs were never shown how their role evolves in a Scrum environment.

That’s why we created Scrum for Project Managers, a practical one-day workshop built to help Project Managers apply their existing strengths inside modern Agile teams while learning how to navigate Agile ways of working with confidence.

Led by Julie Chickering, the workshop focuses on real-world application, leadership in Scrum environments, stakeholder alignment, and managing delivery within Agile organizations.

📅 Upcoming dates: May 27 | June 19 | June 22

Calling your AI a teammate might be the most expensive mistake you make this year.

A recent study from BCG and Boston University found that when organizations position AI as an employee rather than a tool, accountability tends to drop, adoption slows down, and managers are more likely to question where they fit professionally.

The interesting part is that this is something leaders can directly influence.

How AI is introduced inside an organization matters just as much as the technology itself. The companies handling this well are being thoughtful about how they talk about AI, how they position it, and how they help people adapt alongside it.

Has your organization spent as much time thinking about the human side of AI as the technical side?

The A in AI stands for Agile, and strong agile leaders understand that people and culture come first.

Is your leadership style the biggest risk to your AI investment?

The good news is it can also be your biggest lever.

Agile-minded AI leadership isn’t about giving up control. It’s about leading at the right level by setting direction, removing barriers, and trusting the teams closest to the work to make smart decisions.

Leaders who make this shift often experience faster ex*****on, higher engagement, and outcomes that create real impact.

The A in AI stands for Agile, and one of the most important places to start is at the top.

Project Managers entering Scrum environments often ask the same question: do my skills still matter here?

Yes, they do. More than you might think.

The strongest Agile delivery leaders aren't people who left their PM experience behind, but instead people who learned how to apply it in a Scrum context. Leadership, stakeholder alignment, coordination, and delivery discipline don't expire when the methodology changes.

If you're navigating that transition, we just launched Scrum for Project Managers: a one-day interactive workshop built specifically for PMs who want practical, real-world guidance for succeeding in Agile organizations without leaving their strengths at the door with trainer Julie Chickering.

Are your employees quietly avoiding AI, even when they know it would help?

New Harvard Business Review research surveyed 1,200+ employees and found that workers who rarely used AI reported nearly twice the psychological stress of those who used it daily. (Study linked in comments)

The barrier isn't resistance to technology, but people fearing they'll lose the skills, credibility, and identity they've spent years building.

The organizations getting it right aren't just deploying better tools. They're designing human-AI relationships that protect what motivates people in the first place.

That's the part most transformation roadmaps leave out, but it might be the most important part.

What would it take for your organization to actually scale AI, not just talk about it?

The operating model is almost always the culprit, causing slow decisions, siloed teams, planning cycles that can't keep pace with what AI actually needs to perform.

The organizations winning with AI built a different way of working first. We put together a practical guide for the leaders responsible for making that happen.

What if the thing slowing your team's AI adoption isn't the technology, but whether people feel safe to be honest about it?

Teams with low psychological safety don't suddenly open up when you hand them new tools. They nod along, avoid raising concerns, and quietly work around what isn't working.

One shift that helps: change the questions you ask.

Instead of "What did you do yesterday?" try "What did you learn?"
Instead of "Are we on track?" try "Where could you use help?"

These questions signal that honesty is welcome, and that's the foundation AI experimentation actually needs to thrive.

What's one small change that's helped your team speak up more honestly?
