We are seeking Mexico-based Data Engineers and Scientists to support US projects.

We are seeking highly skilled (Mid-Senior Level) individuals with strong business and technical know-how to join our team of Rockstar Data Professionals. These roles combine a data-driven approach and expertise with an eye for spotting new concepts and opportunities. In typical engagements you will work directly with the customer in a mixed team of Qbiz and customer personnel, collaborating to make an impact on the customer’s data infrastructure, analytics, and/or reporting.
As a Data Consultant at Qbiz, variety is the norm. For any project you work on, you could:
-Provide strategic guidance and thought leadership to assist clients in transforming their business through innovative data processes, analytics, and insights.
-Bring a unique and valuable skill set to the team, contributing novel perspectives while developing solutions for a variety of different clients and data problems.
-Learn about market-leading and new technologies, and put your learning into practice on live data.
-Collect, organize, mine, analyze, and/or model data using state-of-the-art methods.
-Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative or scientific field.
-4-20+ years of experience working on data solutions.
-Strong skills and hands-on professional experience in Python and SQL, database and query optimization.
-Full proficiency in at least one major RDBMS: AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, GCP BigQuery, PostgreSQL, Presto/Trino, Hive, Teradata Vantage, MySQL, etc.
Exposure to visualization tools: Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, Chartio, AWS QuickSight, Apache Superset, Microstrategy, Qlik, etc.
-Ability and desire to produce elegant and well-documented code.
-Excellent communication and presentation skills and a desire to work directly with a variety of clients.
-A demonstrated hunger for and history of continuously expanding your own knowledge and expertise.
Qbiz is building a collaborative community of expert data practitioners who continually learn and build on their current skillsets. In addition to the required qualifications, we’ve listed some additional desired qualifications below. We understand that most candidates will not fulfill all of them.
Desired Qualifications:
-Experience as a consultant.
-Experience architecting distributed systems on cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.
-Proficiency in Apache Airflow, Luigi, Kafka, Kinesis, Elasticsearch, Druid, and/or Spark.
-Exposure to all components of the big data ecosystem, Presto/Hadoop/Hive, data pipelines, real-time ingestions, data lakes and warehouses, data science, etc.
-Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc., and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
-Professional experience in two or more verticals: finance, e-commerce, health, high-tech, etc.
