In my personal time, like many others, I often thought about the paradox of the tragedy of the commons. It is an economic theory of a situation within a shared-resource system where individual users acting independently according to their own self-interest behave contrary to the common good of all users by depleting or spoiling that resource through their collective action. It is human nature to b
e biased towards short-term individual benefits (even if they have long-term harmful effects) versus giving up part of the short-term benefits for long-term community benefits. But the current critical climatic conditions compel us to take concrete conscious actions to do something we have never before done conscientiously - bring humanity together to apply our uniquely capable brains to protect what we enjoy the most with Mother Earth - air, water, food, health, peace. There are numerous ways to do this, and it is very exciting to see various efforts, small and large, in this direction around the world. This page is my humble effort to share some of the most innovative, impressive, interesting initiatives/ technologies/ projects that I come across, to spread awareness in the interest of sustainability.
