Howdy, partner! We had an awesome time at this year’s Nucleate Summit in Dallas, TX! 🤠

Our Chief Scientific Officer, Colby Souders, joined fellow industry leaders Kavita Kulkarni of Biohub and Cam Linke of Amii in a panel entitled “Designing The Next PDB: Who Will Build Biology's Most Valuable Dataset.”

Moderated by Nirmesh Patel, the panel discussed the future of biological datasets:
•What will the next major structural dataset look like?
•Who will fund these massive, open-access resources?
•What is the timeline for building the infrastructure that AI and ML models need?

The team had a great time meeting new faces, catching up with old friends, and chatting about all things science.

Claude + protein design. 🤩

🎉 We are thrilled to have performed the wet lab validation for this research!

Common benchmarking targets as well as two novel targets were selected to test Claude’s capabilities, as were two approaches:

• The first was a multi-target mode where Claude designed against all targets simultaneously in a single Claude Science session.

• The second was a single-target mode where Claude tackled only one target in parallel for all targets.

👉 Out of the 15 selected targets, Claude Opus 4.8 and Mythos Preview successfully designed binders against 14 of them!

This includes high-affinity binders against at least six targets and binders matching or exceeding the best reported affinity against five targets!

In May 2026, the Twist Comprehensive Viral Research Panel was successfully used to map the Bundibugyo Ebola strain in the DRC, which lacked the precise sequence targets required by standard PCR test.
