Please forgive our failed attempt at affecting nonchalance, when one is a mere arm’s length from greatness it is nearly impossible to keep one’s cool. After all, it was Violet ‘s first b-day and she was about to fly the coup for the very first time. With the inimitable David Freitag and his formidable IATSE Local 16 posse on the job her maiden voyage was simply perfect!

Yes, that is us in the Jim Fowler-inspired safari attire, serving as the Nest Guardian for Violet ‘s epic first birthday during the Golden State Valkyries halftime show. David Freitag orchestrated this flawless flight on behalf of IATSE Local 16 . And they won! It was a great day in Ballhala!

So what does the preposterously talented Thomas Remaili do on his day off from the epic and risqué MARVELous The Show ? Why, he bases Three Highs at Circus Center with people he’s never met before, of course! We introed him to Felicity Hesed ‘s awesome People’s Circus Theatre troupe, who invited the phenom Cole Jayme and the winsome Stef to join their acro jam and scale to new heights atop Tom’s stalwart shoulders. Come see him at Great Star Theater through this Saturday - his show is WILD even by SF standards, so leave the kids at home!

Here is a photo essay of ‘s Electric Circus at and an homage to the brilliance of live event photo wizard ! Our non-Instagram colleague Jennings was on vacation - rumor has it he was in Istanbul for a hair transplant and more liposuction - and rigging designer extraordinaire was unavailable so we jumped at the chance to pull ropes and move props, especially when the incandescent and the stellar .n.aerial joined the cast.
